  1. @ aussie cheers thanks for letting us know i was wondering about repeats and what tapes they were using so if they use the originals then we should get completly uncut episodes with full gate slams just out of intrest how did you find out the info thanks again

  2. Update from 111 Hits:
It will screen at 6.30pm weeknights with a repeat at 2am and again the following afternoon at 1pm. Add with 111 Hits+2, that’s 6 chances to watch a particular episode….Whoooop!!

The tapes sourced by 111 Hits are the true originals from Channel Ten, no copies from overseas affiliates will be used…meaning we’ll get to see those fight scenes 😉

  3. @ Haze

I’m with you on showing Australian Dramas from the ’70s and ’80s.

I’d love to see the following – Cash & Company, Tandarra, Number 96 & The Box (Nothing quite sneaking a look at the last two when I was a kid).

  4. The very best Australian dramas were made in the 70’s and 80’s, it seems it was our hey day of creating the best of the best and Prisoner was just one of them. I agree they should be showing the rest on the free to air digital channels like The Young Doctors, Cop Shop, E Street, Richmond Hill, early Neighbours, The Restless Years, Division 4 etc.

  5. when are they going to replay the Sullivans, Carsons Law, E Street, Young Doctors, The Australian Mini Series about Squizzy Taylor, and the Australian Mini Series Power without Glory.

There is a lot of classic Australian drama from the 70s and 80s that would be worth seeing again.

  6. @ Penny Bad Girls was never as good, wasn’t a patch on Prisoner but what I would like to see is the American copycat version of Prisoner called “Dangerous Women” which screened here on Ch 10 in the early 90’s. Why don’t the networks bring these shows back?

  7. With this early timeslot whoever catches it would be hooked and it will most certainly get a new generation of fans. Especially those early eps, they were the best.

  8. Did anyone think that Sue Sylvester’s massive tantrum on Glee, flinging chairs around and knocking over bookcases the other night was very reminiscent of Franky Doyle’s “Doreen stays with me!” fit that we’ve all seen a million times? 🙂

  9. Wow and I can’t believe the timeslot much better than I expected. Can’t wait for this haven’t seen this show in years but it should really be running on Ten or Eleven.

  10. Pretty strange timeslot i will probaly watch it on 111 hits+2 @8:30 because we are usually having dinner at that time as for classification guidelines i am thinking it should be ok because it is only M rated David can you confirm that it will be OK LOL it may even outrate tens news if it keeps going down the way it has

  11. @Aussie Pay TV airs shows with ratings as high as MA at any time of the day. They are not subject to the same classification guidelines as the FTA. This explains why say a show like Skins can be seen during the day on FOX8.

  12. @aussietv

yeah well, if one of the fta channels aren’t going to air it, then one of the foxtel channels have every right to buy the rights for any program they see fit for their subscribers!

  13. “tackling issues such as homosexuality, murder and violence like never before, thereby cementing its place in our history as one of the most watched Australian soaps ever……”.
    At 630pm??

I’m one of Prisoners greatest fans, but the timeslot feels wrong.

  14. David, do you know if this timeslot will mean it will be subject to strict classification guidelines? Weren’t they originally going to air it at 10.30pm weeknights?

  15. 6.30 weeknights ?? Wow . and then the option of 8.30 on 111HITS+2 and there could a rerun somewhere overnight. Hopefully The Flying Doctors is the next classic that reruns….
