Donald Trump wants Obama to show birth certificate

Apprentice boss and avowed Republican Donald Trump has called on Barack Obama to “show his birth certificate” during an interview on The View.

Trump argued with the hosts of the show that the US President wasn’t born in the US and is “hiding something” on his birth certificate.

But Whoopi Goldberg insisted, “It’s the biggest pile of dog mess I’ve heard in ages!”

“It’s not because he’s black, is it? I’ve never heard of any white president who had to show his birth certificate. That’s BS!”

Trump plans to make his decision on whether he’ll run for the Presidency in June.

  2. The issue with US Politics is that you need to be a 50+ Millionaire to run for President. Its not available for anyone with one less.

  4. Yeah I know you have to be a US Citizen but it just annoys me and Im not even American how they keep going on about this.

    Its why I stopped watching Fox and Friends because they are anti Obama. Its even worse now with Srah Palin on the show.

    Perhaps you could educate them by showing them Obamas birth certificate.

  7. @Mr Chandler, yeah, I vaguely remember there was a stink about former Liberal MP Jackie Kelly who was born in New Zealand, but didn’t declare that when she was put forward for pre-selection. At least I think it was her, I could be mistaken. I know there was drama with someone not having Australian citizenship, yet they ran for office. This was about ten or so years ago. Unlike the USA, a foreign-born person can run for office here, but they have to be Australian citizens. Several of our PM’s apart from Gillard have been born overseas: Andrew Fisher was a Scot and Billy Hughes was a Pom. John Fahey, former Premier of NSW was born in New Zealand.

  10. well we had a one nation mp get kicked out of federal parliment for a sort of the same thing a few years back after the 1998 election i think. born in england but she didn’t declare where she was born

  12. @catherine, to run as President of the United States you must have been born there, (which is why Arnie Schwarzenegger couldn’t). It’s not the same here in Oz.

  13. In regards to Trump’s Kenyan rubbish, there are three different tea-parties:
    1. Those who turn up at rallies and honestly believe Obama is a Kenyan Muslim. They need education.
    2. Those who use their public position to deliberately (and falsely) fuel the ignorant rhetoric. They need to be stopped.
    3. Those who will gain from the widespread misinformation campaign. This is both politicians and business people who receive kickbacks from the politicians. They need to be exposed.

    Trump has now moved from group 3 to group 4.

    @catherine: Clause 5 of Article 2 of the US constitution says the President must be born in the USA:
    > No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.

  16. Obama is been president for over 2 years now. Im tipping that someone has verified his birth certificate before he officially became president. Otheriwse how would had he been able to run. Stupid people like Karl Rove, Sarah Palin, Bill O’Reilly and now Donald Trump really need to get over this and move on.

    Donald Trump is obviously good at what he does but I really dont think I’ve ever heard a man so full of himself when he says people remember me from kindergarden and I was top in my class Blah Blah Blah. Im not sure how he would be able to be president while still trying to manage his businesses. I hope he isnt nominated.

    Also our PM wasnt born in Australia but it really wasn’t an issue and no one cared.

I thought Whoopi Goldberg’s walk off stage during the on-air feud between her & Bill O’Reilly was foolish and immature, but she did have a point this time, Obama’s birth certificate has been verified. The lack of research and comments by Trump will hit him when he actually tries for presidency.

  22. I happened to catch this segment yesterday and couldn’t believe what I was hearing. That crap has been peddled by far right conspiracists since Obama took office and just succeeds in making Trump look and sound like a right wally.

I thought he was more intelligent than that. qauick history lesson -Obama was born in Hawaii in 1961 to a Kenyan Muslim father and an American mother. He is a baptised Christian. Hawaii became the 50th state of the USA in 1959. Therefore, Obama was born in the United States and is not a Muslim. Is that good enough for the Donald? Trump is a publicity hound tool.
