Meet Jack Vidgen, aged 14 years old from Manly in Sydney.

He appears tonight in Australia’s Got Talent singing Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing.”

Vidgen has previously performed at school concerts and wants to be Australia’s Justin Bieber.

It airs at 7:30pm tonight on Seven.

  6. He’s got potential, he’s got beautiful voice, but last night he only copycat Whitney. This morning he performed one of Whitney’s again on Sunrise. Without music instrument, he sounds like shouting, not singing. He still need a bit more practice. Talent + practice —> he definitely can become a star!

  8. It brought tears into our eyes at home too, ..not just because of his great talent but also because his innocence and the strong emotional presentation of the song. Even the choice of the song….he was singing to his father…!!

  9. Forget Justin Bieber, that boy was a Youtube Fluke with no real talent. but Jack is a different story altogether this boy Has got talent and is sure to win 2011 AGT. I hope he will never compare himself to Bieber cos simply there is no contest Jack is way better

  10. When I first heard he was doing Whitney I went oh no but as soon as he opened his mouth and sang my jaw hit the floor. Such an amazing talent and if he wants to become the Aussie Beiber so be it. He has a dream. Not everyone does. He will go far regardless.

    The other highlight for me was chooka playing piano. Same reaction. Jaw dropping stuff. Couldn’t believe he was self taught and only 16. Just wow. This season is going to be fantastic.

  13. OMG When you listen to that song and can actually understand every word, that is amazing. This young man is so talented, I know he is young and his voice will probably break but I happen to think “WoW what next”. You are amazing Jack, go for gold young man, you have what it takes

  15. Leave Justin alone! I am 43, so not a big fan – but he is a talented!!! – Why compare!!! Jack will be a great talent – he does not need eveyone to tell home “not to be” him! Trust me.. if he can make half the money Justin is making… he will be a happy boy! Stop the Justin comments people! Please!!!

    1. Jack has obviously attracted a lot of interest already, but given he wants to be an Aussie Justin Bieber it’s not unreasonable to make comparisons. Most people think Jack is actually the better singer.

    Aim High Son.I don’t know such as Prince or Michael Jackson when he was alive or for someone of your generation Justin Timberlake.

    I have heard a lot of Bieber jokes on Good News Week by the way so don’t aim that low
