Sad News: iconic Australian actor Bill Hunter has officially passed away aged 72 at the Melbourne Hospice he was admitted to earlier this week. 🙁
Deidre Chambers….what a coincidence.
what a wonderful actor I remember him from news front all those years ago and right through to recent movies. he certainly had a fantastic presence and made such a strong contribution to Australian movies and television…
I also saw a younger Bill on Prisoner recently. Sad news indeed….
Thoughts and prayers are with Bill and his family.
He used to do ads for BHP – The Big Australian. Bill Hunter. The Big Australian!
best of luck, mate….
Bill was on Ten’s Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation not too long ago-he’s a fine actor and it’s sad to hear has cancer.
Legend. Deserves a State funeral when he finally passes.
This is very sad news – he is probably the last of that generation of iconic Australian actors.
What are Aussie movies going to do without him or the late great Bud Tingwell?
Best wishes and all strength to you in this fight, Bill & family.
My thoughts and prayers are with Bill and his family…. very sad news… 🙁
Very sad news i enjoy the roles Bill played i think he is definetly the last of australia’s golden era of film and tv.
Really sad news. He’s a legend of the industry.
Sad news, he certainly is a treasure who seems to have been in almost all of our earlier television productions. Saw him in Prisoner too as a drug dealer who tied up and gagged poor Vera in her flat, unplugged the phone and left.
Wow, this is sad. I grew up watching him pop up in so many things. He is a great Australian actor who puts most of today’s “actors” to shame. Best wishes Bill.
What a tragedy he is one of this countrys finest actors get well soon bill his most memorable role for me was when he played viniger tits boyfriend in prisoner
This is such a shock and very sad news.
Hang in there mate.
Wow I thought he was around 80yo.Watching him in Prisoner a few weeks ago, which was an episode from 1979,he looked around 50 then.
He seems to have popped up in every popular Aussie TV series and movie.Great actor.
Sorry to hear this.
Best wishes to Bill & his family.
What is the Australian film industry going to do without him? 🙁
I just heard this on the radio and am very sad to hear it. An absolute Australian treasure. Best wishes to Bill and his family.
Love and best wishes to Bill and the family. One of the best actors in this country, and also one of the nicest blokes you could ever hope to meet. This is devastating to me.
