Dannii: “I’m not furious, upset or livid”

Dannii Minogue has commented on her exit from The X Factor after being unable to liaise production dates.

Dannii Minogue has commented on her exit from The X Factor (UK).

On her blog she said that she was disappointed not to be on the show but added: “I’m not furious, upset or livid.

“We simply couldn’t make the dates work.”

It has emerged the show’s production was a moving feast with audition dates changing three times making it impossible to fulfill her commitments with Australia’s Got Talent.

A source told The Mirror: “She’d had enough of being messed around and treated like she was insignificant.

“The third change of dates was the final straw.”

Indicative of the show’s tentative plans, with just two weeks until auditions for the series start, only Gary Barlow and Louis Walsh are locked in as judges.

A senior source said: “ITV wants things signed and sealed but Simon (Cowell) is still changing his mind and thinking of new names. The feeling is that without Cheryl and Dannii a big sexy female star is needed. If they end up with Tulisa (Contostavlos) and Kelly Rowland, who are the favourites for the jobs, fans will be very disappointed.”

ITV has said: “We are very excited about this year’s show. We’ll announce the judges’ line-up shortly.”

  1. Really not happy with this one 🙁
I was never a real fan of Dannii until last years X factor, where she really shone and stood out as the Best judge.
To me, she has the X factor, I can’t explain why I like her so much…but I do 😛

  2. Kelly Rowland makes the signing of Dannii Minogue look like they got Mariah Carey. She is clearly no-Beyonce and has not really made it at all in the UK as a solo artist – and the group she was in made such an impression over here I can’t even think what they’re called.

She’d clearly have been better over in the US – though not that we particularly wanted to keep Cheryl. A threesome of Gary, Dannii and Louis would probably have worked rather well, with the format tweaked so they have one act from each category each. I still don’t get when Gary is supposed to find time to judge considering June and July are practically booked out by his touring commitments.

  3. It would be a smart decision to include Danni in this years season of X Factor Australia. Iam sure she would add value to the series. Also she is already part of the 7 Network anyway would be perfect. However it might no happen because thye already have their judges/mentors.

  4. The X Factor UK now looks boring. The judges for the past 4 seasons have been fantastic and now with Cowell, Cheryl and Danni all leaving it looks like the wheels have fallen off a bit.

  5. mmm, what is Mr Cowell up to for UK X-factor, there will only be one returning judge from last season (Louis Walsh), Simon and Cheryl won’t be involved as they are both doing US X-factor. Thats a very large upheaval to the show all at the one time. Interestingly, Fan forums have not reacted well to the news of Dannii’s departure at all

  6. The fact that fans of this show would be “disappointed” with Kelly Rowland as a judge tells you right there and then what a waste of space it is.

  7. If Kelly Rowland’s name is being floated, it probably would’ve been a better idea to keep Cheryl in the UK & put Kelly in the US. I have a feeling both series are going to suffer because of these choices in judges (the US is definitely too British).

  8. Disappointed with Kelly Rowland?! ‘

God grief, you cant get much more of a “big, sexy female star”than her. Part of one of the biggest female acts ever and a successful sslo act in her own right??

    Hardly disappointing!
