Oops! Seven director living off welfare?

A Today Tonight promo for a story about welfare cheats inadvertently used a shot of a luxurious house belonging to a Seven commercial director.

A Today Tonight promo for a story about welfare cheats inadvertently used a shot of a luxurious house belonging to Seven Network’s commercial director Bruce McWilliam.

Doh.

His Point Piper waterfront mansion was seen with the audio: “Australia’s biggest public housing cheats. Millionaires, businessmen – all living off welfare – caught in raids. They own fortunes in assets but pay as little as $100 a week for million-dollar views.”

TT executive producer Craig McPherson said: “The promo included Harbour views. A shot of Bruce McWilliam’s house found its way in. It shouldn’t have.”

  1. Does anyone really believe anything they see or hear on this program?

The word Facts doesn’t even appear in their vocabulary.

I’m constantly amazed that people still watch this rubbish.

  2. OMG, and this week on Media Watch they highlighted a story TT did about the Auto Industry here, packed full of factual mistakes (Check it out on iView or DL from the MW web site.) But it just makes me wonder who the hell is doing fact checking of that and all news/current affair shows!
