Ready, Steady, Cook fans already miss Peter Everett

Some TEN viewers got a bit of a shock yesterday when new episodes of Ready, Steady, Cook aired, but without host Peter Everett.

Some TEN viewers got a bit of a shock yesterday when fresh episodes of Ready, Steady, Cook with new host Colin Lane hit the screens.

Maybe they hadn’t heard he was replacing Peter Everett.

A wave of comments hit TV Tonight yesterday afternoon, almost all of which were upset that Everett would no longer be appearing on the popular show.

Many of them let fly at TEN:

Liz: Sorry to see you go Pete, loved the show because you were in it. Not the same without you, always looked forward to your happy, genuine self. Channel 10… not happy!

Penny: Very shocked that Peter would not be hosting anymore, my 14 month old daughter loved ready steady cook, once it came on today and she didn’t see Peter on the screen she was not interested anymore and turned away. Peter was the show, and its boring now!

Lynette: I love Peter & the show but without Peter I am not interested in watching anymore, he made the show. So sad. Good luck Peter for your future.

Beatrice Timmis: i love ready steady cook but peter everett was the show i watched it every day i loved it from the moment it started till it finished sorry but i will not watch it any more even for the reciepes i will continue to buy the book why do you do things like that i dont know

Lorraine Usher: Cannot believe that channel 10 has parted ways with Peter Everett, lost a viewer with this household….

Sacha Haddad: OMG he will bemissed i definetly won’t be watching the show anymore. He was so easy going and funny.

Kay Warrop: After watching the first edition of Ready Steady Cook with new hoast I was very dissapointed as Peter Everett really made the show so now you have not only lost a veiwer for this show but for other shows as well. Hope he comes back with another channel.

Belinda Smith: Bring back Pete! The show sucks without him.

Sharon n: Bring back Peter Everett. I like Colin lane but the show is not the same not sure if I will continue to watch.

Liz Whitton: I for one will no longer watch RSC. The new host has no personality what a dead pan
Bring Back Peter Everett he was the life of that show. Channel ten you are gone gone gone.

Hilary Bell: Oh, no, only 20 minutes into the new show and Colin Lane looks like a duck out of water. He spends more time looking at the camera than at what is being cooked. Please bring back Peter Everett – a delightful man who drove the chefs crazy on occasions but had a delightful personality with lots of hugs (and self deprecation so often) but he was really interested in what was going on and added so much fun to the show.

But some were glad to see him replaced with Lane:

Sharon: My husband and I both agree that peter Everett was so inappropriate with contestants and chefs alike, we are glad he is gone and hope that the series keeps going with the new host as we do like the show.

  1. I have tried and tried but I just can’t warm to Colin Lane on RSC. He is a fish out of water, he knows nothing about anything, he isn’t even funny, considering he is supposed to be a comedian. Today he drank potato starch I guess he was trying to get some reaction, but it went over like a lead balloon. Good luck to Peter in his future endeavours, he will obviously be picked up for another programme, he certainly was a big personality. Channel 10, you lose.

  2. OMG what were 10 thinking???? I’ve just come back from overseas and didn’t realise that Peter had been replaced. Bring back Peter, he was funny and an absolute joy to watch, gave the new guy the benefit of the doubt and watched a few episodes, Boring !!!!!!!!!!.

    After all these years, you’ve definately lost me, family and friends alike as viewers.

  3. Good luck to you Pete, I’m sure you will do well now you no longer have to be part of a boring yesterday kind of show! You rocked as the host and it was a joy to watch you learn and learn new things myself.

    Will now turn tv off and find something else to do instead of watching Ready Steady Cook!

  4. Can’t believe Peter Everett has been replaced – what a disappointment. He was like a breath of fresh air, I loved his humour, he brought so much fun to what is now just another boring cooking show. Don’t know what Channel 10 was thinking – bring Peter back!

  7. everyday day since peter was host of ready steady cook, i made my cup of tea and took and hour before my kids came home from school to watch the show, he was charming and funny and gorgeous, i will not be watching the show anymore out of principal, peter made the show not the chefs or audience peter, very angry and disappointed that you could do this channel 10

Peter Everett you made my days off for the last 5 years so enjoyable Ready steady cook is now just another cooking show Boring you made everyone interested not just with cooking with fun and interest you made with people in that show Peter i bet now it wont last a year i wont watch it anymore good luck Peter hope another station picks you up at the same time and you kills your old shows ratings then the 10 network will see the big mistake they Made.   13. i agree totally with all the comments about this try hard colin lane..the show will never be the same without peter everett we all loved his funny ways& jokes’ bring back peter’ i & many of my friends will never watch ready steady cook again’ why always look at the camera lane? lane didnt get a chance on the circle why put him on ready steady cook. not a happy channell 10viewer.

  14. I thought Peter Everett must have been on holidays, however I’m now starting to realize this new guy is here to stay! Well, sorry, but he is really boring!! I wont be watching anymore, because Peter Everett was the show!!!! Derrr

  15. I really can’t believe u idiots got rid of Peter this was my favorite show now I don’t even watch u have wreaked my daytime telly veiwing as this was the only show I bother to turn the telly on for during the day now it dosent go on at all very disapointed!!!!!!

Why cant everyone just give Collin a chance? he is an excellent host! i was a big fan of Peter too but I love Collin just as much now that he has come on the show, he is just as kind and has a very similar sense of humor. People can be so cruel, Peter may have chosen to leave himself, dont take it out on the new host. Collin keeps me sooo entertained and a breath of fresh air. Welcoming you with open arms Col!!

    Sorry to see you go Peter, you were a lot of fun as for being inappropriate with guests i didn’t see it, you really were a bright spark on the show. Never mind too many cooking shows at the moment so this one probably won’t last. Nothing against Colin liked him on the circle but that’s a different type of show!!!! Not too much fun on RSC.

  18. I don’t usually watch day time tv however when I do get the chance I always tune into Ready Steady Cook. At first I thought this new guy was hosting while Peter Everett was on holidays a few weeks later I realised he’s still there and obviously to stay. This new guy is actually really dull and says some really stupid things, I know a lot of people didn’t like Peter, but I found he gave great flare and character to the show. I am very disappointed to see him gone, and cannot watch this new guy who talks over the chefs and has a terrible punch of arrogance. Good bye RSC.

  20. bring back peter. I will no longer watch the show,and that goes for a lot of people. What was channel 10 thinking. Peter is an inspiration to television,and why would you take such a great friendly guy,and who we all loved watching off our screens.

  23. I am disappointed with the new host of RSC and miss Peter Everitt, why change hosts when the one you have is so good. He was cheerful and funny and well worth watching, he made the show. I will not be watching it anymore.

  24. for crying out loud bring back Peter this guy is sooooooooo boring, used to love the show even hubby liked Peter he is talking now and he is just not with it too much about himself

  25. Won’t ever watch the show any more that Peter has gone. He is so naturally funny and warm.. I didn’t watch it before he came and won’t watch it now he’s gone…
