Heads up fans of Downton Abbey (and who isn’t?)…..
The drama won’t air this coming Sunday due to a three hour finale of Dancing with the Stars. It will be followed by a Castle repeat.
A 90 minue finale will air the following week, Sunday July 17th at 8:40pm.
Seven isn’t yet revealing its replacement programmes for 6:30 / 7:30pm, but they are likely to include a pick from Sunday Night, The X Factor and Great Migrations.

How come NZ saw this on Prime a month ago, and Aussie has to wait another week?
LOL don’t you just love our commercial networks and the way they expect viewers to toe the line and watch what they demand and when? It’s commen knowledge a lot of viewers prefer to get there tv shows by other means for continuity.
Downton Abbey is a wonderful series right up to the end, viewers don’t deserve to have the timeslot changed.
Thats ok im really looking foward to the finale. It means it sort of goes for another week and I can look foward to it next week rather than it finish this sunday and I will be missing it already.
I don’t understand why the DWTS finale needs to go for 3 hours, there are only 3 contestants to dance. Oh that’s right, they bring all the eliminated dancers back for another whirl and spin or two.
It’s now 2:45.
And how will the 3 tedious hours of “Bogans in Sequins” be coded to ensure the network gets as many shows in teh top 10 as possible?
Possibly:
Dancing with the Stars
Dancing with the Stars: the winner announced.
But I am speculating….
@andy, you and me both mate! What a mess TV is in when a load of mindless junk like DWTS gets preference over one of the very few excellent dramas on commercial TV. Shame 7, shame.
My guess for Sunday is this
Sunday Night
Great Migrations
Castle
Law and Order: LA
I rang Seven today, well yesterday now and the lady i spoke to said there were no plans for Bones any time soon while i then asked about Castle and she said it will be back this month.
My guess for X Factor is Monday/Tuesday. Body of Proof for 9:30pm Tuesday and Thursday is anyones guess.
Too bad Ch 99 wasted The Dark Knight on Monday although it probably rated alright. But I would of watched it on Sunday. Same with Flying High this week rather than next week on Eleven. I guess I might need to break out a DVD on Sunday. Unless there’s a channel that wants to do something interesting next week.
@Hayden. Can’t wait for new MSM! nice follow on from DA … hope ABC can hold off.
@tomothy or that Random Seven Celebrity is the winner.
3 Hours for Dancing with the Stars? Talk about excessive and unnecessary! How long does it take to say “and the winner is D Grade Star #9”
I wonder if the ABC will move the new series of Midsomer Murders back a week after this announcement? We shall see!
If I were seven, I’d stick great migrations ( which is fantastic, watched it on nat geo last year) on Sunday 7.30 and try x-factor mid week on tues & wed once got talent ends
any idea when new bones and castle might be back?? bit disappointed with seven’s shoddy treatment of these shows this year.
Kinda surprised they didn’t time it better.
Where are they up to with new Bones and Castle? Just a heads up the Bones final has a huge surprise at the end!
FYI the 90m final is actually closer to 60 without the ads, no surprise there.
That’s OK … the Blu-ray is better!
i knew it! I knew Channel 7 couldn’t broadcast a show for 7 weeks in a row without a single break. it’s just beyond them! Ridiculous decision.
