Gone: Burn Notice

Burn Notice is already out of TEN's schedule after just two weeks back on air.

That was fast.

Burn Notice is already out of TEN’s schedule after just two weeks back on air.

The show was airing on Friday nights (although some fans had been hoping for a better night).

Last week it pulled just 365,000 viewers.

Tomorrow night TEN has a movie, a repeat of P.S. I Love You.

No word yet on the future for Burn Notice.

  1. What are you doing to our favourite show ‘Burn Notice’?. It used to be reliably on at a reasonable time slot – now it’s anything but ‘reliably on’, and if it is on its on at a ridiculous time – its hardly suitable viewing for kids at 8:30pm. Get it back on at 9:30!!!!! (Please)

  2. As i thought…. Repeats! oh well at least its the beginning of season!
i dunno why channel ten didnt just finish off the seaon when there was 4-5 episodes left!
they could have shown as they are now on (one hd) the whole season 4 after they finished showing the rest of it on ten…

  3. I hope tonights episode is not repeat and continues from where it was left (series 4 – i think episode 14)??
i have been watching the ads for it and looks like a repeat from series 3???
    hope im wrong….
    can anyone confirm this??

  4. What happened to burn notice are channel ten going to but it back on if so
when? And why did they take it off in the first place I’m so outraged Give us all
an explaination channel ten!!!!!! I have watched Burn Notice from the beginning of when it all started Put Burn Notice back on!!!!

  5. Like so many Australian Burn Notice fans, I was also patiently waiting for the new season of Burn Notice to hit the television screens and when I saw that it was I was over the moon, but when it was taken from its time slot and removed I was very ticked of. Why would Chanel 10, in there not so infiniate wisdom remove such a popular programme and replace it with a stupid show called Can of Worms. Get your act together Chanel 10 and stop putting on crap

  6. Very disappointing again Channel Ten. We have waited patiently for you to show the remainder of this season and you pull it after only 2 weeks. I’ll just hire it from Quickflix now.

  7. Why would u take such a great show off and put p.s i love u on. Who gives for that crap, I remember u did the same with numbers a while back. Why do you keep doing this? At least give us a reson for taking shows off.

  8. What do you expect from Channel Ten! Burn Notice was one of the few shows they aired which was worth watching. My son and I watched it religiously. We were so excited when it returned, until last week when I thought my TV was playing up. Anyway, now down to only two shows. Watch this space. And, as for the crap they aired instead, the producers Still have NFI!

  9. “Not Happy Jan!!!!!” (quote from yellow pages ad) I don’t usually bother complaining about tv on any websites but this time I’m so #$@%&**@ mad. Self confessed tv junkie but free to air is fast losing me. Burn Notice was one of the few shows on FTA that I watched. Hopefully W (foxtel) will catch up and keep the series going.

  10. Why have the “Free to air channels bothered to make a commercial advertising “free to air”. They have nor respect for the viewers, and the viewers are fast loosing respect for them.

They took off 2 great shows Burn Notice & Law and Order on Friday nights and the first time, didn’t even bother to change their own guide.

  11. Oh no, Where is Burn Notice, I am a 65 year old female and just love this quirky show. The stars and the story lines are so different from the usual. Why not put it on Thursday nights at 9:30 instead of SVU. Who needs a double episode of that. No wonder my share values for TEN are going down, surely I can have my say being a share holder.

  12. Thank you chanell Ten, yet again taking another great show off, we also went to watch Burn Notice on friday night and wasn’t there!!! 2 weeks in What The?? We also waited for it to come back on. Instead back to all those repeats of the same old same old, someone dies then investigate Boring.

  13. I agree, F*** you channel ten. You made us wiat for months before this show came back on and now you only aired it for 2 weeks! I am 8 months pregnant and I sat down with my husband to watch our favourite show last friday at 9 and there was some terrible movie on! Thanks a lot you bunch of bast**ds. Put it on channel 11 or let the W channel have the season. I hate you!

  14. There goes another one of the few shows we watch together as a family. I get sick of the disdain that the channels treat us with, moving and dropping shows without notice and replacing with repeats of things we were never interested in watching the first time around. It is this kind of behavior that has made services like Hulu, bittorrent, etc the success they are today…

  15. I absolutely hate how these networks stuff up shows that are actually entertaining.
Burn Notice is something I look for to return to TV, and then they stuff up the whole thing and cripple it before it gets off the ground again.
My god, Who makes these decisions?

Don’t get me wrong, I like the Butler dude in P.S. (sorry not you Ms. Swank), but I mean, come on, this is not a movie to keep you entertained on a Friday night.

Guess it’s an early night for the kids.

  16. Clearly the message Ten are sending us is to fire up our copies of uTorrent…

I was actually enjoying having the show on Friday nights. For anyone not interested in football (and there are a *lot* of us) it was a great way to relax and enjoy an hour before bed at the end of the week. They could have tried putting it on a little earlier, or perhaps even put it on over the weekend, as there’s precious little on TV of a weekend.

  17. This is a solid show that deserves better treatment and slot from Ten. But when a network does not support a show and treats it like a C grade snow the viewers pick up on that an essentially ignore it. And that is what has happened here. Ten will never get BN to perform now

That said the reason pay TV networks can run shows out, while FTA networks pull shows due to bad ratings is simple

FTA gains just about 100% of revenue from advertising which is set by ratings.

Pay networks on the other hand get the vast majority or their income from subscriber fees, with only small amounts of additional revenue from advertising.

Thus low ratings innte short ten do not hurt pay networks so much. They already have your money!

  18. F* u Ten! What did you expect when you put it on fridays!!!!! I hate you right now! The best thing you can do now is swallow your pride, p*ss off the pathetic defenders on wed night and replace it with Burn Notice!

  19. No.I haven’t seen the show but Friday Nights are dead anyway for Ten and have been for a long time. Most of Your Would Be Audience are usually out with family and friends or work an evening job.

  20. oh, this was the one show that seemed to last every year on Ten. they decide to put it on Fridays, why? and also why put double SVU on Thursdays when Criminal Intent is now on Mondays?
