Gone: Burn Notice

Burn Notice is already out of TEN's schedule after just two weeks back on air.

That was fast.

Burn Notice is already out of TEN’s schedule after just two weeks back on air.

The show was airing on Friday nights (although some fans had been hoping for a better night).

Last week it pulled just 365,000 viewers.

Tomorrow night TEN has a movie, a repeat of P.S. I Love You.

No word yet on the future for Burn Notice.

  1. @ Craig – it is a lot bigger in the U.S. with them used on some channels thoughout the entire show (mainly The CW) and not just every now and again (as is the case with TEN). Expect it to grow as it is a more likely to catch viewer’s attention than normal ad breaks when viewers are muting their TV, making dinner, on the phone, etc.

  2. I don’t mind the Toruchwood watermark on UKTV, mainly because I don’t watch the channel much but it’s very faint so I don’t see the problem.

What I’m hating is to 1/4 (or bigger) pop-up ads for shows then appear on the screen after some ad breaks on some FTA channels, they are just too big and you just got back from a 4 minutes ad break, surely you could have fitted the promo in the previous break!

  3. @ Jen13 – I was focusing on the way that pay-TVs rarely stop a show during a season or change its timeslot (with the only real times the shows stop is during specials or changes timeslot when a prevous program is longer than normal – as was the case with The Chicago Code on FOX8 last night moved to 9:30pm with Got To Dance having its 2hr finale). Your right that their advertising differs from FTA networks, and your not the first person I have heard complain about UKTV’s constant Tourchwood watermark, but they do not show repeats of a show during primetime unless the show is finished, as well as my previous point.

  4. Josh – don’t be too quick to praise Pay TV!
They may be good at sticking to a schedule, but the rot has started to set in.
All this week the UK channel has driven me crazy by running a 3-line ad for Torchwood on the bottom left of the screen during programs. Their watermark is on the bottom right.
The ad stayed on-screen for the whole program, not for just a brief time at the end of the ad breaks.
I copped it during Waking The Dead (2 eps), Primeval (series final ep), Kingdom and The Inbetweeners.
I will not be watching any more of the UK channel.
To think we are paying money to be abused like this!
    P.S,
I like Burn Notice and will look elsewhere for it.

  5. Don’t take away Burn Notice. It is a great show. Hawaii Five-0 is about to wrap up. Why doesn’t TEN put it on then along with Law and Order?

  6. OMG you gotta be kidding me!! The FTA networks need to show an entire season like the pay-TV networks instead of this 2 new episodes, month hiatus, repeats, etc. This is shown by Castle on Seven how their been repeats for over a month when there are new eps left to show! If their going to keep this up they might as well sell out to pay TV networks who know how to treat their viewers!

  7. give us an other couple of years and all we’ll have on tv are reality tv shows.

my wife and i love burn notice – but like many other shows we like we seem to be in the minority.

i realise that we get the tv we deserve – but i don’t like the fact that 1 million people out of 22 million – decide what the rest watches.

    frankly it sucks.

  8. Soz my bad, Burn Notice started at 9pm, unfair comparison. But still Burn Notice should go to Wednesdays, The Defenders isn’t doing too well.

  9. Don’t just drop it Ten move it to a better night as I am sure some fans didn’t realise it was back on, or put it on 11 on a good night and leave it .

  10. They should move Burn Notice to Wednesdays. The Defenders did horribly last night and had more viewers in Sydney than Melbourne, so the low figures weren’t due to the Origin. And Burn Notice had more viewers on Friday than The Defenders got last night, both of which started at 10pm. The Defenders should go, or at least be moved.

  11. Eleven??

Friday is a dead night, especially for TEN. Why don’t they just make it a ‘premiere’ movie night?? The way Sunday used to be, couldn’t hurt.
