It was delayed into WA by the commerical networks, thank goodness for ABC 24 and Foxtel. Why would you even bother showing something delayed? Had to laugh when all the commerical networks plastered live everywhere. It reminded me of the flood coverage earlier this year with the commerical networks with it.
It is on Ten, I’m watching it now.
Rupert seems a bit dithery and uncertain.
Yes, I’m anxious to watch the hearings (I’m in Europe) but the ABC News 24 site is not working. Can you help, please?…David?…somebody?
Try The Age website.
@Big V: the hearing will probably be shown on delay in Perth so that Australia’s Got Talent and Winners & Loser will air as normal.
(I don’t know about David’s feeling of cross-posting comments, but he may delete if he wishes it not to be so. Forgot about this post for a moment, so thought I would share the comment I made on the “Must Watch” post, as it might be helpful to some that wouldn’t see it there.)
For those interested, the UK Parliament has a TV broadcast arm, just as ours does. All committee hearings can be watched through their system, and are available internationally. Easily found through a link on their Parliament website.
This being that there is another committee being held on the issue at 9pm AEST, in another room. Then 2 1/2 hours later will be the main show, which the TV stations will cover – some fully, some only partly. Either way, UK Parliament TV archives all their footage and is viewable at any future date, for those that miss it, or don’t want to stay up that late!
For those like me who want to keep an eye on what is said over social media, and don’t have a computer/TV in the same room – watching it online is a good way. Knowing where to do so, is helpful.
Thought I would share!
I’ll be sticking with BSBYB’s Skynews on Foxtel 😉
What about Letterman, it’s new tonight with Bono!
Guess I’ll just have to record TEN most of the night to catch it very late.
What’s the point of all the channels if something like this happens as you end up with it on 4 or 5 channels at the same time, not including PayTV news channels where I’m sure CNN, BBC World and SkyNews will also be covering it live.
ABC radio in Perth saying that the coverage will be live at 6pm WST on ABC 24.
Will it affect Australia’s Got Talent in Perth. I am always looking forward to see it and will be disappointed if the whole is not screened.
David & Nathan:
ABC News 24 is streamed live on iView 🙂
I don’t think it archives them for replay, which is how I read the question. But thanks for the extra info!
Hmm….. The bigger they are…..
Hmm, yes it is a bit sus that Channel 10 is the only channel not showing any of this when Lachlan Murdoch is on their board.
TEN may well show it, but I can only list what info I am supplied.
Thanks again David. 🙂
@ David Thank you.
What, nothing on 10?
It’s being described as the most anticipated committee meeting in modern history. this is a big, big story – PM David Cameron is in serious danger of losing his job.
David, do you know if it’ll be on iview ?
Don’t know, but I doubt it. iView is usually reserved for produced formats rather than live television replays.
This story is huge and is gaining momentum every day. More (high profile) heads will roll over this. Will definately be watching.
I never thought I’d see 7 or 9 dropping normal programming for a parliamentary committee meeting. Just shows what a big story this is.
