Ashton Kutcher, internet billionaire on Two & a Half Men

Ashton Kutcher will play Walden Schmidt, an internet billionaire with a broken heart on Two and a Half Men.

Ashton Kutcher will play an internet billionaire with a broken heart when he steps into Two and a Half Men‘s two-episode season premiere.

His character will be named ‘Walden Schmidt.’

The LA Times sums up the info as thus: “Add a little more to Kutcher’s real-life social networking oomph and general business savvy, then subtract a little Demi Moore, and it’s sounding pretty close to typecasting. Especially if you catch a glimpse at that fit-for-a-billionaire trailer Kutcher’s been rocking outside the Men soundstage.”

At the Television Critics Assn. press tour yesterday CBS Entertainment head Nina Tassler said, “When everyone walked on that set on Monday [for the revamped show’s first table read], you could cut the air with a knife.”

She also said Kutcher “is an extraordinarily professional, talented, funny, gifted actor who comes with a tremendous amount of commitment and enthusiasm.”

Which would also make him an extraordinarily professional, talented, funny, gifted actor who comes with a tremendous amount of commitment and enthusiasm who has only signed for one season at a whopping big salary…..

There was no confirmation that Sheen’s former character would be sent off with a funeral but other rumours swirling around the season return include the sale of Harper’s Malibu house, cameos from ex-girlfriends, characters from other Chuck Lorre shows, and real-life celebs who’ll appear as themselves.

  1. wait, wait

So what happens when Alan p*sses him off? He can so easily just kick him out, but before it was family so he couldn’t do it without mum or mom troubles

  2. The butterfly effect is a great film, but it’s the only good thing Ashton kutcher has done the rest has been woeful. I wasn’t even a fan through that 70s show

  3. Should have warned of the spoilers David, not that I care but some do.

Some predict the ratings will go up at first, with people checking out what all the fuss is about but it could drop quickly if the story is not there. I guess with all things TV time will tell.

  4. This will get good ratings and twice as many as the older ones which featured Charlie Sheen.I will watch it for sure.

I like the fact they are getting a new actor .I know what some of you are thinking and that is without Sheen the show won’t work I beg to differ I remember when they replaced Shelly Long with Kirsty Alley on Cheers they predicted it would not work The critic were wrong same thing will happen to 2.5 men everyone will prove them wrong.

  5. Looking forward to this. Ashton Kutcher is a great actor – anyone who has seen The Butterfly Effect can testify to this

I hope they can keep it continually funny and fresh though, after eight seasons the show is showing its age

  6. Yeah I read they were planning to kill the character off and then sell off the main house with real celebrities touring the open home.

I’d watch it… but only for the first episode.
