Dani eliminated from MasterChef

Publicist Dani Venn has been eliminated from MasterChef Australia after a tense four-way cook-off.

Dani Venn has been eliminated from MasterChef Australia.

She was cut from the show in a four-way elimination challenge that required contestants to cook three courses that represented their life.

Despite being an open pantry challenge, it tested them all.

The 25 year old publicist from Victoria told the judges she didn’t get to finish her dishes in the time frame. Her chicken and corn soup, braised pork belly, ice-cream and fritters were strong in concept but let her down in flavour.

Now remaining in the contest are Alana Lowes, Kate Bracks, and Michael Weldon with the penultimate elimination to take place on Thursday night.

  1. Well I guess everyone can stop bagging her now and get off her back. As for those other idiots out there that threatened worse things then you can stop now.

It was funny though when the ice cream wouldnt come out of the bucket so she just put the bucket on the plate.

Anyway I reckon the top 3 are the right people and they can all cook. Kate has just improved so much and I dont care who wins.

  2. Only watched the first few minutes last night. I switched off after I realised a contestant was going to cook pork belly – again!!! I swear pork belly has been the most ubiquitous ingredient this season. If they could have made desserts with pork belly, I’m sure they would have.

Dani’s time was up – about eight weeks ago. She did not have the competency or skill to make Final Four (in my opinion), so I consider her exceedingly lucky to have gone as far as she did. Good luck to her in the future, I don’t have anything against her, but I don’t think she was a particularly good contestant.

  3. Banana fritters…..for a finals week dessert with three hours to cook…just shows how far the quality of cooks has fallen this season. As for the alana fans out there – really!? She is always so sour-looking, and every dish she did last night she had already done in some form previously on the show. That was her third attempt at lamb chops – what a joke.

  4. Yippy Yay, Yippy Yippy Yay, the Sooky La La Has Gone Away – now I can start watching again – Dani Wani’s tenure in the show was a BIG joke, the judges should be ashamed of themselves.

  5. Yay! Dani does present well, but cooking wise I just don’t think she had the potential to be the Masterchef. You can’t talk with your mouth full.

  6. At last!! I laughed out loud Every time she said, this is the Worst dish I’ve ever put forward. And they say only cats have nine lives.. Who will ever forget the sad cakes in New York? The burnt buns at the airport?? And people like Jay and Hayden who could cook left before her……

  7. How do they serve all that food piping hot, course after course ? Amazing. Didn’t think the theme was appropriate for finals week. Too many repeats of earlier dishes. Telling that Gary said “dani you’ve had a hard day” when they only had 3 hours to do the challenge from scratch ??? How much real time do they get to cook the dishes ?

  8. there is a god….I stopped watching months ago. they’ve tweaked it too far and there are no good personalities. couple of great cooks and reckon most went early. dani just annoyed the tits off me. those recap interviews they did between scenes wanted me to shove a couple of valium down her throat…Im sorry that is harsh but if masterchef producers think peppy young girls bring the ratings and thats how they are rolling these days well I just wont buy it

  9. Relax guys. Relax. Dani has been my favourite this season – her passion for cooking was evident & I’ve loved watching her. She often takes on way too much.

IMHO, the judges this season favour Michael & Kate. Michael is Clearly their favourite! & I read Kate was let out of the house per 2 weeks to go see her family. Meh. This season has not delivered. If immunity challenges are still there next year Im not watching.

  10. Finally!!!!!
No offence, but she shouldn’t have lasted as long as she did.
    The right choice to win.
Would still go Michael for the win , but as Gary said, he really has to lift his game.
I hope he isn’t coming down from his climax too soon, he has to keep it up there.

My mouth watered at Kate’s dessert, literally….

  11. The rest of the contestants are a bit bland imo.
I know it’s about the food, but these people will make books and television appearances, as well as do other things. We already have a mum. We already have a man. And now we’ll repeat history (Alana cannot win).
