Touch, a pilot starring Kiefer Sutherland and created by Tim Kring (Heroes), has been given the green light for a 13 episode series.
Sutherland stars as Martin Bohm, a widower and single father, haunted by an inability to connect to his mute 11-year-old son, Jake (David Mazouz) who possesses the ability to see things that no one else can and the patterns that connect seemingly unrelated events with numbers.
Danny Glover will also play a child expert who assists.
The pilot was directed and executive-produced by Francis Lawrence (Water for Elephants).
Kevin Reilly, FOX President of Entertainment, “Touch is another ambitious series from Tim Kring that is beautifully executed and has incredibly resonant themes for our times.
“With Kiefer back on the network as the face and force behind this creative new series, I’m confident it will resonate with viewers this spring.”
“Every once in a while, you encounter a piece of material that you just cannot say no to,” Sutherland added. “That, combined with the opportunity to work again with Peter Chernin and the FOX studio and network, makes me thrilled to be a part of this project. I also look forward to working with an extraordinary writer and producer like Tim Kring.”
What this means to any plans for a 24 feature film isn’t clear, but it sounds like an interesting premise, which will presumably end up in Australia on TEN or Foxtel next year.
It will join the FOX schedule in the US spring season.

I am interested in watching the pilot of this! I actually liked Heroes for most of it’s run (apart from some season four episodes), and Jack Bauer is always welcome on my TV screen
And Ch 10 will prob show it for 2 weeks and pull it because it didn’t rate.
Looking forward to seeing Kiefer on tv again 🙂
This series will be on TEN in 2012. Fox apparently internally have been excited about this one since first script delivered earlier this year.
Tim Kring is not known for anything original.
Kind of sounds like that Nicholas Cage film Knowing.
