Gone: Same Name, $#*! My Dad Says. Bumped: Top Gear Australia.

When it doubt just play more of The Big Bang Theory, eh Nine?

Try not to look surprised.

There are more changes in Nine’s schedule after a very average week.

On Tuesday $#*! My Dad Says is out after a return of just one week. It’s replaced by more -wait for it- Big Bang Theory, now screening from 7pm – 8:30pm.

Top Gear Australia is also pushed back to 9:30pm replaced by an Under Surveillance special -also after just a single week’s return.

Nine still hasn’t sent amendments on these, and it their 10:30pm slot is still empty with a TBA.

Meanwhile, uninspired Same Name also goes from Wednesday nights after just one week. It will be replaced by the doco series Ocean Giants at 7:30pm.

  1. I refuse to watch The Big Bang Theory any more. I simply buy the DVDs and save myself the pain of trying to follow each series on the dysfuntional Channel 9.

Channel 9, you are without doubt the most pathetic FTA channel ever!

  2. I don’t whach tbbt on nine ,
They over do it with both ads and how much a week they show it. Why not try friends in the 7 :00 timeslot mon and tues, tbbt wed and thur and nrl

  3. Not good new for there flagship program TG AU, do we know how many eps we planned in this series?

Not surprised by the other changes and while I love TBBT please Nine find something else for the night!

Ocean Giants – is that the BBC 3 part series that aired recently in the UK?

  4. As much as I am looking forward to the upcoming Joy of Sets, I am fearful that unless it kills in the ratings the first couple of weeks, it will be in a midnight timeslot by ep3. Then again, Tony Martin has always be adamant that Channel 9 only puts good shows on at midnight (Sopranos, Curb, Big Love)

  5. You’re right Guy. I was totally fine with them last year having an hour of Big Bang Theory twice a week and that seemed to do well for them.

Next week there are 11 episodes of Big Bang Theory across Nine and GO but I feel that it could have been 17 if it weren’t for The Voice.

Is there anything worth watching on Nine anymore?

  6. Nine must purposely be trying to kill Top Gear and Top Gear Australia – it’s a 7.30 show and it could air Tues, Weds or Thurs at 7.30 but they’re choosing not to and I just don’t understand why. It’ll do even worse at 9.30 and then they”ll shift it to 10.30 and then take it off air.

Here’s a list of some of the stupid programming moves by Nine this year that I can recall:
    – The Mentalist moving from Monday to Sunday with Mentalist dropping from 1.2 to 0.8 as a result
    – CSI from Thursday to Monday where it did 0.6
    – Sea Patrol from Thursday to Tuesday resulting in SP dropping from 1.2 to 0.6.
    – Top Gear from 7.30 to 8.30 resulting in it dropping from 1.3 to 0.7.
    – Overload of Big Bang Theory rpts.
    – The entire Go! schedule

  7. I wonder if we will get to see 500 episodes of The Big Bang Theory before the year is out. It will be tough to break in the future. In 5 years Nine could aim for 600 episodes of Mike and Molly over 3 channels.

Nine still have shows that I will watch in prime time. Nine News 60 Minutes, Underbelly, Farmer Wants a Wife, Rescue, Hamish and Andy and AFHV. Besides the news I am not watching Nine on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday nights and find Thursday weaker than previous years and think Saturday could be better. Sunday and monday are fine in my book at least up to 9:30pm. They are not doing enough to keep me watching shows every day of the week. Wednesdays are worse without Cold Case and McLeod’s Daughters. Tuesdays are rarely exciting but they tried with Sea Patrol. Nine certainly need to do much better in 2012! Same with Go and Gem!

  8. F### off Nine. I am over this. You are going to ruin one of the best comedies out there with all this repeat bullsh!t. Sorry but i am over you. You are the toxic network and need to go off the air.

  9. That’s terrible three big bangs in a row.Thank God I won’t be home to watch it.I defected back to 7’s Home and Away on my nights off work when I found out TBBT would be 9’s 7pm offering when the Block ended.

  10. Why don’t we just make it easy, and say Nine’s schedule is now The Big Bang Theory from 7pm to midnight, 7 nights a week.

Then they wouldn’t have to send out those pesky amendments, or bother with ‘new’ programs.

  11. Ocean Giants – not more big ships docos? Although the ones on TEN and Seven have been quite good, which I guess is why Nine is cloning, as they endlessly do.
