iCarly‘s Jennette McCurdy and Nathan Kress have been announced as co-hosts for Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards next month.

For those slightly older folk not familiar with the show, McCurdy plays Sam Puckett, Carly’s (Miranda Cosgrove) best friend and web show co-host, and Kress plays Freddie Benson, the web show’s technical producer and Carly’s next door neighbour.

“I’m super-excited to be going to Australia for the first time to co-host the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards,’ said McCurdy. “My other cast members have experienced Australia and they say it’s amazing! I’m so excited it’s my turn and that I’m in the running to win the LOL Award! I also heard that Aussies go nuts with slime, so I hope I get to unleash some onto the kids of Australia!”

Kress added, “Jennette and I can’t wait to get there, it’s gonna be a blast and we’re looking forward to meeting the Aussie fans on the Orange Carpet. Hopefully iCarly will win Fave TV Show too…but not sure if we stand a chance against Home and Away!”

General Manager of Nickelodeon Australia and New Zealand, Ben Richardson said, “They’ve got the right audience appeal and the comedic chops to do a fantastic job, plus the experience of presenting at the U.S. KCA’s to over 7 million viewers.”

The sold-out slime event takes place on Friday October 7 with votes closing on September 25.

Last year’s event was hosted by by Liam Hemsworth, Jessica Mauboy and iCarly‘s Jerry Trainor.

  1. iCarly is seriously the most under-rated kids show on TV, and is genuinely funny for adults too. If it was on against any sitcom on FTA, I’d still choose iCarly.
    And I’m a 22 year old male.
