It’s the show that keeps on giving….
Nine has renewed its rural dating series The Farmer Wants a Wife hosted by Natalie Gruzlewski for an 8th season.
This season has hit a high of 1.17m and so far has chalked up five weddings and four babies since its 2007 launch -does anybody still remember SBS’ Desperately Seeking Sheila?
If you are a single farmer and want to apply to be on the show applications are now open. The call for single females will follow later.

Wow! Hold on to your seats ,kind of show.
My heart melts when i watch this show, looking at the country [farm atmosphere] side makes me miss it more. The boys always look fantastic.
But the girls who want to go to the beauty palour each week ,i can see they are the ones that don’t suceed in the show . But the girls who want to give it a go , work hard ,low maintanace type of girls seem to suceed and win their man.
very jealous!
Great show channel 9 , Please keep it up. better than most violent shows.
They never have any 80+ yr old farmers on- typical agest channel nine- discriminating against the elderly
@ Jack….. I am still watching and still enjoying good old fashion romance!
yeah 9, what about a trangendered gay farmer?
there are single gay and lesbian farmers out there as well. how about giving them a go too ?
This current season has been really, really dull and i have not watched it for the first time …
Do something really interesting next time … have a Gay Farmer!!!!!
Otherwise it is just too much the same old, same old!
Yest another show that doesn’t seem to rate but keeps being produced. Can someone illuminate me as to why? Must be all the tampon ads, diet coke ads and shampoo ads they sell.
What a load of shite. And that goes for the network the show and the host. All are rubbish
I have never watched this show and never will, but it seems to be a solid (and under-rated) performer for Nine. As long as it keeps doing well, it will be renewed.
