It’s time to go Hamish and Andy?
Latest media speculation about the upcoming season of Big Brother is that Hamish and Andy would be fan favourites to host the show.
But the reports don’t carry any quotes from Nine, Hamish and Andy or even the usual “insider” source.
I’m not seeing them as a very good fit at all. They are after all comedy performers and this is a Reality format. Aside from not being able to do their usual sketches their brand would need to take a back seat to the Big Brother brand here.
Nine has already paid a fortune for the pair via their Radio Karate production house, which really needs to be justified on its own terms, not piggybacked onto another format that belongs to Southern Star.
Prefer to see somebody new who can be a storyteller with the drama, not resort to punchlines.

From what I have read, Natalie Garonzi is in talks with them…
I read elsewhere that Jonesy from 2WSFM Breakfast, who also appears regularly on Kerri-Anne’s show, was whisper from inside 9 for the host job.
I’ve head Kyle Sandilands say on radio Big Brother’s biggest problem was it couldn’t show the interesting stuff at 7pm, and he has a point. A late night daily show that could be classified M would be better.
I hope BB Uncut returns, as well as Mike, Bree & Fitzy for Friday Night Live … those two were the reason I watched BB at all.

Bringing back Big Brother Uncut is the only way this is going to work. All of the funniest stuff was too rude for the daily shows. Nudity is always good for ratings too, just ask the Producers of Underbelly.
They can barely host their own TV show much less another one. Imagine asking them interviewing the evicted housemate and asking about their time in the house and then have Hamish jump in with a joke before the evictee even open their mouth.. no no no
@Kaz – Difference was Gretel’s comedy was always intelligent, not slap stick like H&A plus she did have a sincere side and could handle debate which came through when she was on Beauty and the Beast with Stan Zemanek
No dont do it guys. You are so much more talented than hosting this show.
God I hope not. It’s bad enough that Big Brother is on Ch9, but having these two jerks host would be the final nail in the coffin for me.
But if southern star uses the same format it will fail on nine. Maybe sketches amongst the big bro storylines would make it fresh
Please god no!!!!! They are fit for radio and lame comedy, not to host Big Brother. I Guarentee it would be a failure if these two were to host!
I don’t necessarily see the boys as a good fit for Big Brother either, but wasn’t Gretel Kileen predomiantly a comedy performer before she hosted Big Brother?
Just bite the bullet and bring back Gretel. Whether you loved or hated her, she managed the live format perfectly.
How the mighty have fallen! It reminds me of Kyle and Jackie O hosting the final season of Big Brother which ensured its axing.
As I’ve said before, I reckon Hamish and Andy would be great hosts for Big Brother. Anyone but Gretel!
Big Brother on 9 will be a huge disaster whether these clowns host it or not.
I completely agree here. They need someone new, the same way that Gretel Killeen was new when Big Brother began in 2001.

A crappy show (was only good in S1 and S2) and 2 crappy comedians.

Well said David. I like H&A but even in their own show when interviewing guests they always made it about themselves. They would be no good as BB hosts where it should be about the HMs and the “story”.

ch9 have just wasted shed loads of money on this lame pair, which sums up their year……

I think we all know part of the death of the original BB was the change of Host.
To me” one on one” host seem to do a better job on these kind of shows.
