We’re already at the second-last episode of Gruen Planet for the year -that was fast!

This week Gruen bravely treads into the land of the Kardashians. Which possibly explains why Wil Anderson looks a bit glum… awwww….cheer up mate, show’s nearly over.

Also joining Russel Howcroft and Todd Sampson are ‘self-described marketing bloke and occasional propagandist’ Toby Ralph, and a PR veteran of 15 years, Suzy Yates.

On the Renovators this week, we look at the ways mining companies try to make us love them. With the watered-down mining tax legislation expected to get through parliament this week, we ask why these companies are still trying to win our hearts and minds. Is their investment in local communities just a diversion, to distract us from their mega- profits? And as ‘global warming’ became the softer sounding ‘climate change’, can the mining companies substitute ‘fracking’ with the gentler ‘seam stimulation’?   1. Must watch this week. It will be interesting to see what the panel make of the Kardashian trip. As for the kardashian fame. The family became famous because their biological father was a lawer in the infamous O J Simpson trial in the 90s. Since then they Kris and the rest have been making the most of it, and it doesnt hurt to look pretty. In recent history they havent done much, they have launched a clothing/fashion store, i guess as a way to show that they dont need the media to pay for there things anymore. As for the pokies they should definetly be thrown out of the clubs. It is ludicras to think that one change like that will impact on so many people. In terms of the Mining companies attempting to make us like them its simple when you are trying to sell crap and something that you know will cause outrage, you need to do alot of spinning.
