Mike Goldman in Big Brother talks

Mike Goldman has been in discussions to return to the Big Brother franchise in 2012.

It’s still early days but Mike Goldman has been in discussions to return to the Big Brother franchise in 2012.

Goldman was the narrator of the TEN series, as well as the host of Up Late and Friday Night Live. He remains very popular with long-time fans of the show and could bring a lot of experience to the production.

Goldman told the Courier Mail he’d had initial talks about reprising his role “in some form” when Big Brother is revived on Nine.

He’d also had a phone call from a Today Tonight producer looking for phone numbers of past contestants for a “Big Brother ruined my life” story (HotDogs where are you when they need you?).

Call me crazy but I reckon A Current Affair has probably done a few of those in the past too.

Big Brother will air after the Olympics with host Sonia Kruger.

  1. Ohhh Yes!!! Please bring him back!! we need him or else the show is Crap. He is the one who makes the show good. So Please Channel 9 bring him back and put him as the Narrator, Host of UpLate and the Host of Friday Night Games. Keep him in his usual roles. Thanks!!!

  2. Yay Mike!! You did such a great job and it wouldnt be the same without you. Can’t wait to see it.. Let’s hope nine takes it back to its original format… No intruders and constant change. Let them sit there for 3 mths without any outside stimulation.. That’s when it was its best!!

  3. I would be pleased to see Mike back on BB….he made that show….
And channel 9 are sure getting their monies worth out of Sonia Kruger…Morning show and BB….and what else?!?!?
    @…Jabe…..Good Grief!!!……it is TV….if you want intelligence….read a book.

  4. Bad idea. the whole problem with BB was that it ended up dumbing down too much. If you want good ratings, you have to make a smart show or you will just have your core demographic and nothing else. To be a success it needs a whole variety of people watching like it had in the early seasons or like the early seasons of masterchef. Get smarter people or a huge amount of People will never tune in.

  5. Oh no, it looks like the new Big Brother is going down the road of the old show and the vile smuttiness that goes with it.

And here I was expecting a more intelligent show focussing more on the psychology and interactions between different groups of people from all walks of life rather than the usual showing off antics of young bogans which is just what it will be if this guy comes back.

Wish they made it all new as far removed from the old series as possible.

  6. i really hope he returns to BB the show would not be the same without him

and TT really are the scum of the earth i hope they didnt get anyone for thier f***ing story when BB was on channel 10 ACA were just as bad as TT is

  7. Would not feel right with anyone else as voiceover/hosting a late shift.

This was a man who truly cared about Big Brother, who has seemingly been relegated to A-Mart All Sports commercials since the demise of the show. Lets hope his talks with Nine are as successful as his advanced hair treatment

  8. That would be good if they could get him back.
Speaking of Hotdogs I was with a mate who was looking for a new place a couple of years back in the southern suburbs of Melbourne, and guest who was the real estate guy who help my mate out that day.
