Sophie wins Survivor: South Pacific

Sophie defeats 'Coach' and Albert to win $1million, but it's Ozzy who the audience loves.

Sophie Clarke has won Survivor: South Pacific.

She defeated ‘Coach’ and Albert to win the $1million.

Survivor favourite Ozzy lucked out in the final challenge when Sophie won Immunity, but later won the $100,000 “Player of the Season” in a landslide audience vote.

Tribal Council saw the final 3 savaged by their former cast-mates, including being questioned on the use of religion and honour while manipulating one another.

Even host Jeff Probst questioned the constant use of prayer in the game.

During the Reunion former series villain Russell Hantz criticised his nephew Brandon for not “doing anything right.”

A doleful Brandon admitted his family did not support his gameplay. “Some of them were pretty much so disappointed that all they could talk about was how I didn’t live up to the Hantz family name,” he said.

Next season of Survivor: One World will see two tribes living together in Samoa and airs in the US in February and is tipped to screen on GO!

  1. For those that claim Sophie was an undeserved winner– I think her win is one of the best female games in the history of Survivor, but was unplayed by poor editing by the producers.

On Day #1 she challenged Coach for intelligence and gained his respect, formed an alliance on that first night that took her all the way through the game, kept her alliance onside by playing along with the Religious elements of the tribe despite being an atheist and played a strong physical game, winning 3 individual immunty challenges yet didn’t come across as a threat at all.

  2. Love survivor. My comment is it does not look good for Nine fast tracking the next series as they cut Jeff off from saying when we can expect it. The fast tracking did not add to this seasons ratings. It was on at a difficult time with many strong series like NCIS LA and parenthood at the same time.
Let’s hope it is fast tracked

  3. The series really does need some changes – too many times the winner is undeserving. They should give jury members the right Not to vote – in other words, you have to earn a vote, rather than get a vote because the jury doesn’t like the other two options.

  4. I would like to see future series of Survivor actually put the contestants at risk and maybe have a few casualties along the way. It is meant to be reality, yet they are protected. A series set on the Afghan/Pakistan border would be great. Chechnya would also be a good location, along with a wildlife park in Africa. My final recomendation would be Ciudad Juarez in Mexico.

Just somewhere very dangerous where survival really is the name of the game. Set a few challenges that put them at risk….no need for tribal council. This is the 21st century and the world is a dangerous place, it is time this game moved with the times.

  5. Loved Sophie, she really won it for herself by winning that final immunity challenge. But even I can admit the only reason she won was because of Coach and Albert’s unpopularity.

  6. Agree it was one of the worst seasons but i think it had more to do with poor casting. At least 3 players (Dawn, Brandon & Rick) were the worst i can ever recall and as they were crucial to their alliances their refusal to actually play the game (even when it was obvious they needed to Dawn) left little for the others to do; and played in to the hands of Coach and as it turns out Sophie.

As for Ozzie to me he was over rated. The game is outwit, outlast and outplay and Ozzie seemed only to want to outlast.

  7. Final three: Lame. Couldn’t have cared less who won.
As an atheist I can only smile at how these ‘devout, god worshipping’ christians made a mockery of religion.

  8. Of those 3, glad Sophie won. But Ozzy is probably one of the greatest players of the game. He really deserved it, was so annoyed he didn’t win that last immunity challenge.
Not a fan of Brandon at all, he’s a hypocrite, but it’s terrible what his family did. Russell is a complete idiot, we knew that, but the way he sat there with a grumpy look on his face, and then got up to chastise his nephew was pathetic.

Next season does look good. I am getting sick of the island surroundings though. And i sure hope they don’t have any past contestants the next season. Enough already.
