Top model host a top priority for Walsh

The next host of Australia's Next Top Model is top of Brian Walsh's "To Do" List in 2012.

The next host of Australia’s Next Top Model is top of Brian Walsh’s “To Do” List in 2012.

Following the exit of host and co-executive producer Sarah Murdoch, the clock is ticking on her replacement, especially given the last auditions took place around the country in January 2011.

Yesterday on SKY News Business, Director of Television Brian Walsh was asked about his thoughts on the next host.

“We’ve got to fill some very big shoes with Sarah’s decision not to continue. Clearly that’s one of the first priorities for me in the New Year,” he told MediaWeek.

“There’s been a lot of press speculation about whether it will be Miranda Kerr, Megan Gale or Jennifer Hawkins.

“All those names are potential contenders. We haven’t approached anyone as yet but that will be one of the first things that I set about doing in 2012.

“It is our most enduring and most successful franchise. Clearly, finding the right host is crucial to that programme.”

  1. The host of Australia’s Next Top Model will be a model. The show is about the fashion industry and its host will be from the fashion industry, not the pageant circuit.
