My Kitchen Rules the last week of summer

Seven has won the final week of summer ratings thanks to My Kitchen Rules nabbing the top four places.

Seven has won the final week of summer ratings and appears to be well positioned for the first week of survey, which begins today. But Nine has removed its underperforming Excess Baggage and introduces new titles from tomorrow.

My Kitchen Rules nabbed the top four places, with up to 1.65m viewers on Tuesday.

Nine’s best was One Day Cricket at 1.33m. New Girl was best for TEN on 1.24m, with Grand Designs the best performer for ABC1 on 939,000 and Apocalypse: The Second World War pulling 358,000 for SBS ONE.

Seven Network finished with 31.1% to Nine 27.3%, TEN 19.9%, ABC 15.9% and SBS 5.8%.

In Primary Channels Seven led with 23.6% to Nine 19.6%, TEN 13.9%, ABC1 11.9% and SBS 4.8%.

7TWO topped Multichannels on 4.4% followed by GO! 4.0%, GEM 3.6%, ELEVEN 3.5%, 7mate 3.1%, ABC2 and ONE both on 2.5%, SBS TWO 1.1, ABC News 24 0.9%, ABC3 0.6%.

Key demos 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54 were won by Seven.

Seven Network took all cities except Sydney, which Nine again pipped at the post.

Seven won Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. Nine won Sunday and Friday. ABC bettered TEN on Saturday.

The 2012 ratings year has now begun.

  1. Nine must have done well to win in Sydney despite that gap nationally. Nine did well in both Sydney and Melbourne between 6-7pm and that must help ratings in those cities. Nine’s main problem is Adelaide and Perth which are owned by Win.

Nine should do better this week winning Sunday and Friday. Revenge should do around 1.5 million for 7. Big Bang Theory should do well with new eps. Sherlock could help 9 to a win on Wednesday. It will be an interesting week.

I think Nine is likely to win 2012 in Sydney but I see Seven winning Adelaide and Perth. Nine also need to focus on Queensland more ratings wise. Adelaide and Perth are Win’s problem.

  2. I think Seven’s Wednesdays are crap. A soap, cooking reality show, silly dating reality show and 2 hours of How I Met Your Mother? Ick no thanks. I don’t watch Rafters either.

  3. Absolutely right Guy. You think about it, Nine had two nights of cricket where they beat Seven by quite a margin and Seven still won the week by almost 4% which is very good. So yeah, this week with Revenge, Rafters plus a stronger Wednesday and Thursday, Seven will be doing really well.

  4. For Nine to have 2 games of cricket and still lose by a fair margin shows how far Seven are out in front of its rivals. I don’t think Seven will lose a week until at least the Easter break. Seven have huge premieres this week of Rafters and Revenge plus the shows they already have on the air, Seven can do no wrong really. The only thing i would be worried about if i were Seven was the News in Sydney and Melbourne. The gap keeps getting bigger. Bring on 2012.

Prediction: Seven to win with 36 weeks, Nine will take 4 with 2 of those coming during the Olympics. Seven will again sweep the demos.
