ABC appoints Current Affairs, Innovation execs.

Bruce Belsham’s as Head of Current Affairs and Angela Clark is Director of Innovation for ABC.

ABC has appointed Bruce Belsham’s as Head of Current Affairs in the News Division, following the resignation of Denise Eriksen.

Belsham is a former EP of Four Corners and has 20 years experience in documentary, factual, film, television and multi-platform content,

His role includes with expanded responsibility for some Innovation portals, including The Drum.

The broadcaster also appoints Angela Clark as Director of Innovation, a role previously held by the late Ian Carroll.

ABC’s Innovation Division has been the driving force behind the development of ABC online, iView and ABC mobile apps.

Clark has worked in a number of media roles as Managing Director of JCDecaux Australia,  CEO of Macquarie Radio Network, and most recently as Founder of hyper local community sites Streetcorner.com.au & Everymap.com.au.

“It is my view that the ABC is the most innovative media organisation in Australia, both in the nature of the content it produces and in how it delivers that content. This role carries with it a great sense of responsibility as innovation is something that organisations must do every day, as second nature. I look forward to working with the ABC to ensure more opportunities for Australians to engage, learn, laugh and explore. There couldn’t be a more exciting time to be joining the ABC,” she said.
