Guy Sebastian will return to The X Factor for his third season as judge.
Seven confirmed his return following reports of stalled negotiations, and a boost in his fee.
The Daily Telegraph reports Sebastian sought a contract worth as much as fellow judge Ronan Keating, who is rumoured to be on $500,000 per season.
It claims Sebastian’s fee for the first season was $200,000, well behind fellow judges.
Seven will be looking to reinforce the Reality series in the wake of The Voice -which includes Sebastian’s own brother Chris as a contestant.
Sebastian’s mentored act Reece Mastin won the 2011 title.

Part 2 of comment – OS judges. I could imagine how high maintenance that the judges are in every way possible! It will be interesting to see what X factor does to stay popular for 3rd year and how audiences support it. The Voice may cause viewer fatigue by the time the 7 show returns.
Cultural cringe that Ronan and possibly Natalie and Kyle were higher paid in Series 1 than Guy. I suspect Mel and Ronan were higher paid than Nat Bss and Guy in Season 2 – it should be an even playing field salary wise. I am sure on top of their season fee, the production shells out a fortune in travel and lifestyle expenses for the OS
Timmy beat me to it! 🙂
I could watch this show, but they’d need to boost my fee!
