Home and Away’s Facebook page hits 1m fans

Channel Seven soapie Home And Away has reached one million "Likes" on its Facebook page.

Channel Seven soapie Home And Away has reached one million “Likes” on its Facebook page.

While it no doubt enjoys a high amount of international traffic, that puts it at about twice the numbers of Neighbours on ELEVEN Facebook page.

Seven is claiming it as a first for an Australian primetime show.

Seven’s Director of Network Production, Brad Lyons, said: “Home and Away is enjoying a stellar year. The show is blessed with one of the best and hardest working team of actors in the country. They deserve this fabulous achievement and really it comes as no surprise given the passion each member of the cast and crew bring to Summer Bay day in, day out.”

Now in its 25th year, the soapie is sold to over 105 countries.

  1. I have been watching H&A for a few months now, after not having watched it for years. It’s not my favourite show, but it’s better than Big Brother or MC for me.

  2. “Facebook page hits 1m fans”

That’s similar to what must have happened at Ten’s Programming meeting on Monday after the numbers for EDN were in – except it was something else hitting the fans (in fact, an anagram of ‘hits’).

  3. It actually still does pretty well for soapie that’s been around for almost 25 years & up against some blockbusters such as The Block, Masterchef, Big Brother.
