A month after sustaining an injury on the set, Kristin Chenoweth is due to exit The Good Wife.

“It is with deep regret to inform everyone that due to my injuries, I am unable to return to The Good Wife at this time,” she said in a statement. “Getting better slowly, and thank you everyone for your concern.”

Chenoweth was due to have a recurring role as a political reporter who tries to uncover dirt on Alicia (Julianna Margulies) and Peter (Chris Noth) but was struck by a piece of lighting equipment during filming in early July.

“We enjoyed having Kristin on the show and would love to have her back when she’s feeling better,” CBS Television Studios said in a statement.

Chenoweth, who also features in GCB, will still will appear in the Season 4 Good Wife premiere.

She will use the time to recover from injuries.

  1. Love Kristen and The Good Wife so this is just a shame. Hopefully they can write her a role in another season as she would be a great addition to an already great TV show.
