  1. I am so disappointed! I had totally gotten hooked on Dallas! It had started to fill the Desperate Housewives shaped hole in my heart! :p I just downloaded the original 1978 first season on iTunes because I was getting so excited.
Boo Channel 9. Move it to GEM and let it find an audience, just like Rizzoli and Isles did!

  2. 8:30pm before the Footy Show Thursdays could have saved it from the scrap heap.Besides Almost We have all seen most of the older Big Bang Theory episodes and for those of us who have missed a few go borrow a box set from Blockbuster and Return it a week later.

  3. How can an FTA network that depends on advertising possibly leave a show rating 206,000 on in primetime? Not even Channel 10 would contemplate that.

Channel 9 promoted Dallas and gave it a good lead in with Farmer Wants A Wife. There just weren’t enough viewers who wanted to watch it.

Embarrassing Bodies and repeats of CSI will out get more than double the viewers. The best fans can hope for is that Channel 9 reschedules it outside of primetime.

  4. Please Nine, reschedule it soon as was enjoying this. Don’t think I’d bother with starting something on Nine again if this is how they treat viewers.

They could have bumped it to 11.30 so those of us who wanted their fix could keep watching.

  5. Well I had expressed concerns about Dallas being shown on nine in previous posts, but I hadn’t thought that they will take it off altogether. I don’t know why they even bother starting to show new shows that require some concentration and loyalty. Does nine remember that even two of their biggest hits in recent years (2.5 Men and Big Bang Theory) took time to find an audience.

  6. It never had a chance. Starting at 9:00pm (ha ha) meant that it would struggle from the start as potential viewers commit to other 1 hour shows that started at 8:30-8:50.

Shifting to double-eps from E2 just signals to everyone that Nine has no confidence in it, as well as stuffing them around because the second ep finishes past people’s bedtimes or clashes with another commitment.

  7. These shows need to be shown as a double Epp, beginning to create a hook and kick start the subplots.
So glad I took matters into my own hands as Nine have become so predictable I no longer have any expectations.
The battle between Nine and Ten to alienate viewers must be seen by Seven and the ABC as some kind of surreal gift…..just lost interest in talking about this.

  8. move it to Thursdays 8:30 instead of Big Bang repeats and just play it out! do it soon and don’t leave it too late Nine! better yet, play it on GEM. The channel needs more exclusive dramas, there’s only 2 of them. and still no Weeds or Big C yet, put yourself together Nine/Gem!

  9. “Shame it’s on Nine. They’ll screw it around, it’ll start at 9.22, and it’ll rate poorly.”

I said that on August 11. Nine are too predictable.

You can’t trust them, and that’s why i just don’t even bother watching shows on Nine. Feel sorry for those that actually did watch it on Nine, because it’s a great show and gets better each episode. A quality drama, bumped for double eps of Embarrassing Bodies, that’s embarrassing.

  10. If..and that is a big if…Nine do put it on GEM and at a regular time….they would need to restart it…I would imagine many…like me…have lost the thread and missed and episode or two….I only have my TV…I do not do ‘other sources’.

  11. Dallas, top stuff, And they wonder why people lose faith with FTA. I will attempt to purchase or get them from elsewhere now and likely to do the same with anything on NIne.

I was enjoying this series. You only had what 6 to show would it hurt to show them ?

Probably be shown as fill ins for cricket when it is rained out or something stupid like that. I am sure with my lack of programming I could do a better job than Nine.

Many many thanks to TV Tonight for alerting me to this fact and also if it wasn’t for David and TV Tonight I would have never found “Tricky Business” as it was put everywhere where it would fail ? or not have enough numbers to commission another series which would cost more
and the question remains are Nine cutting down on local production in anticipation of the debt having to be repaid ?

  12. Not the first time that ch9 have heavily promoted a show, then stuffed up the starting time, failed to get an audience then ditched it. It won’t be the last…ya just can’t trust ’em.

There is very little point watching any imported show on ch9 any more

  13. I’ve not watched it so no idea what quality/content has been like however, reading all prior comments posted here, how on earth do networks expect to retain audience when they keep stuffing times up etc.

There’s no reliance and frankly. who would want to watch anything on certain fta channels because you won’t know if you will see the whole series, part of that, one episode only….. programming is becoming a mystery grab box at the local network fete. Seemingly making it up as they go along.

  14. That’s really disappointing: it wasn’t really given a chance, it started in too late of a time slot togas a real opportunity. It’s a great show and only got better as the season progressed

  15. So what day and time do people suggest they play the new episodes on GEM? I just hope they choose 8.30pm or 9.30pm presumably on a weekday. So the viewers could see them. I’m not one of them however.

Thinking about it do people think they should play the first four episodes on that time and advertise that they are going to play it from the start again? Also when they get through those four episodes they then advertise they are playing “new” episodes. So that could mean those that missed it because of the awkward timeslots as well as late could catch up properly. It’s a possible way to do it. Plus there’s ten weeks of episodes if I remember correctly.

  17. I’m not surprised by this. Whilst I have seen all of this series and enjoyed it, it takes a few episodes to get going. These days, you have to get the viewers hooked from the outset .
