Mel B seeks AVO on paparazzo

X Factor judge Mel Brown is seeking an apprehended violence order against Australian paparazzo Jamie Fawcett.

X Factor judge Mel Brown is seeking an apprehended violence order (AVO) against Australian paparazzo Jamie Fawcett, AAP reports.

The AVO relates to threats allegedly made by Fawcett against Mel B’s husband Stephen Belafonte on Sydney Harbour last Thursday, News Ltd reports.

Documents allege Fawcett used a rented boat to harass the couple and their personal assistant

Fawcett has said: “I consider the application for the AVO an abuse of process being used to try and control the professional activities of a long-established media photographer.”

In 2007, Nicole Kidman was a witness in a defamation case against the photographer.

An application will be heard in Sydney’s Waverley local court on Thursday.

UPDATE: Fawcett has been banned from coming within 50m of Mel Brown following an AVO being granted, but the case returns to court on Nov 22.

  1. So, according to Fawcett, it’s perfectly acceptable to harass people as long as you’ve been doing it for a while and are being paid for it.
