  1. For a budget TV Network news show, why do we need so many people? ABC News has one reader does all why not Ten? Hamish is over rated, just put Hermione or one of the other Journos on. And while on consistency how about showing it at 10.30 every night. We don’t have to watch TEN, ABC’s Lateline is a quality alternative.

  2. The only time I watched the *new* Sandra Sully-less Late News was when Tarsh Belling filled in for a week.
Hamish is obviously a class journalist, but he’s not someone I’d stay up late for…

  3. Jennome – I agree put Newsreaders behind a desk, not standing.
Now all it needs to be on at a consistent time and their other programmes on at the same time, same night every week and they may be a quarter of the way there.

  4. Too late Ten. I was weaned off getting late-night updated news from TV when you unceremoniously dumped it and Sandra Sully. I either want news or entertainment, not both mixed up with neither done well.

    “…a healthy and loyal audience.”
Translation: “a small but loyal gathering of Hamish fans.” I bet you’d trade them in for a sickly, disloyal, but larger audience in a heart-beat.

  5. I hope they’re going to change the format – it’s so stilted at the moment.

And I don’t like newsreaders standing – they look so uncomfortable.

  6. I always thought it odd that it wasn’t on a Friday night, and even odder that they took a break over Christmas. Couldn’t they have just got other presenters like all the other news programmes? It will be good to have it back.
