Ex-Neighbours actress to play Mary Queen of Scots in US pilot

Former Neighbours actress Adelaide Kane has landed the lead role in the CW drama pilot Reign.

Reign will depict Mary as a 15-year-old “warrior queen” who must combat dangerous foes and dark forces within the French court, amidst fierce foes, dark forces, and a world of sexual intrigue.

Mary is betrothed to Prince Francis, and her three best friends are ladies-in-waiting.

Brad Silberling is directing the pilot from a script by Stephanie Sengupta and Laurie McCarthy.

Kane made her screen debut as Lolly Allen in Neighbours in 2007 and later starred in Power Rangers RPM. She also has recurring role on upcoming Season 3 of MTV’s Teen Wolf.
