By the sounds of things Mel B is dead keen to return as an X Factor judge -but facilitating it for a third season is proving tricky.
The Sun in the UK reported this week that she was tipped to decline a seat on the UK X Factor in favour of Seven’s local series.
“Mel is pretty sure she wants to stay in Australia. She enjoyed appearing on the show in the UK but is telling friends she will stick to the set-up that she is the most comfortable with,” a source indicated.
But today the Daily Telegraph reveals she has packed up her Vaucluse home and returned to Los Angeles with her family due to visa issues.
“To get citizenship here does take quite a bit of effort with paperwork, all the legal work and getting the birth certificates. But we really want to get residency,” she said.
That’s going to make life very tiring just to keep the judge’s chair warm.
Being based in LA, she will fly in and out of Sydney for the series.
But what does it mean for her co-hosting gig on Dancing with the Stars? Â Just sayin…..

Sad she will leave the show. Key reason why I watched!
One of the few reasons why I tune in to watch X Factor.
@ Shelley, it would be a case of having trouble with visas for her family, not her own. Of course Seven would sponsor her for a working visa.
I never knew much about Mel B until the ads she did for a certain company….I found her to be bubbly and self assured….I actually watched the shows she did because of that…
I like Mel B, she should never have accepted Dancing with the stars…..this is definately a show that should have been wound up a while ago.
Clearly seven have not offered to sponsor her work Visa then….
I’m glad she’s staying on because I like how she says it as it is and is probably one of the strongest judges she can be annoying at times but is great and X-Factor needs her. I thnk they need to replace Natalie B I really think she’s really nice and down to earth etc but I think she puts the show down and they need someone stronger…As for DWTS Mel B is not suited for that and they should put an Australian Host someone from H&A Kate Ritchie will be good..just sayin 🙂
I can’t stand her, and hope she goes and never comes back. Don’t watch X Factor, and didn’t like her on Dancing With The Stars. Surely there is an Aussie host they could have got for it. Really hope they don’t use her again.
