2013-02-14_2355Victorian lifestyle and travel program, Postcards celebrates 15 years on air this Sunday.

In the first episode of 2013, the team go in search of what’s new in Victoria’s restaurant scene and find some great regional accommodation along the way.

Rebecca Judd takes a drive to Daylesford and experiences fine dining at the award-winning Frangos and Frangos restaurant, which now offers luxury accommodation in 12 individually styled rooms.

Later Rebecca visits Neil Perry’s latest culinary venture, Rosetta, a sophisticated Italian restaurant at Crown. She also takes a trip to St Kilda and admires one of the best beach views in Melbourne at the newly launched Captain Baxter restaurant and cocktail bar. And just down the road she visits The Stokehouse Café, a famous bistro combining relaxed beachside glamour with exceptional hospitality.

Brodie Harper boards the WTC Yarra Loop water taxi from Southbank and heads to the new restaurant precinct on South Wharf Promenade. She makes a stop at Federation Square where the rooftop has been transformed into a village of busy bees making honey, one of the biggest beehives in Melbourne.

Glen Moriarty travels to the historic township of Euroa, a short country drive from Melbourne, and checks out the Euroa Butter Factory. Built in 1901, the factory has been transformed into a modern warehouse-style bed and breakfast sitting serenely beside Sevens Creek.

Shane Crawford makes his way to the Yarra Valley to visit Essenza, Healesville’s first Italian-style espresso bar, café and restaurant. Then it’s off to Savoia Restaurant in the grounds of Mont de Lancey Historic Homestead and Museum, which serves contemporary European cuisine using a variety of seasonal and regional delights from the Yarra Valley.

5:30pm Sunday February 17 on Nine (Melbourne).
