I tried the Foxtel Go App on the weekend and couldn’t get it to work 🙁 On my iphone 3 on my home wifi and it kept giving the message that the video won’t play as the network is too slow and it will start when my connection improves. Which was pretty ridicules considering I was standing right next to the router and had full wifi strength, I have no trouble streaming apple videos or iview and yet poxtel refused to start.
Foxtel GO is a great app, just it had a bug. the shows jump back 30 minutes without warning and its most anoying
It was announced in the Melbourne Age the other week that Samsung had signed an Android-exclusive deal with Foxtel from June till November in the hopes of increasing its new phone (Galaxy 4) and tablet (Galaxy Note 8) sales. Foxtel announced earlier this year that the app would also be made available on PC’s in June but I don’t know if this new Samsung deal will affect that.
@johnjet
as long as its Samsung I have Asus 16:9 HD tablet then what? Google play will lock out any other device until Foxtel says so which to me seems like restricted trading
@laurie I understand that Android apps are more difficult and more expensive to build that Apple ones and of course less people have these devices. They are on their way though supposedly.
Foxtel Go will be available to Android and PCs in June.
Now just need Foxtel Go for the Mac/PC and will be set.
excellent. I’m very pleased.
Not sure if I read it here or somewhere else but it appears Samsung paid Foxtel exclusive rights for the Android app till November or December if that’s the case then one is to assume Apple did a deal also with Foxtel!!
Thank you %$#^ Foxtel again I miss out on exactly what I wanted for my Android device for…. AFL !!! if this wasn’t David site I would have let loose with the language that’s appropriate and risked being banned
Good news for footy fans who also subscribe to Foxtel. Theoretically, they can bring their iPhone and iPad to the Geelong-Essendon game and listen to Channel Seven commentary (Fox Footy is simulcasting Seven’s coverage) via their earphones while watching the game, and see the replays on their devices.
Also, how many AFL live games will be available on Foxtel Go each week?
This news makes me very very happy. I also read somewhere that shows such as open mike will be aired as well.
