Renewed: Dallas

Updated: The reboot of Dallas has been renewed in the US and will finally reappear on GEM.

2013-05-02_0054The US reboot of Dallas has been renewed for a third season by TNT, despite seeing a dip in its numbers.

Dallas has built a passionately loyal following with its expertly woven storylines, clever twists and turns, and numerous outstanding performances by a cast that spans generations,” said TNT, TBS and TCM president and head of programming Michael Wright.

“Although we said goodbye to Larry Hagman and his iconic character J.R. Ewing this year, Dallas has many more stories left to tell, and the Ewing clan will continue to honor J.R.’s memory by keeping its audience surprised and delighted.”

In Australia the show didn’t perform too well on Nine and was taken off air, but TV Tonight can finally confirm its return on GEM.

Updated: The show will begin again from episode 1 at 8:30pm Thursday May 16th.

  1. Oh, so glad its been changed to Thursday. It was going to clash with Arrow & Offspring on Wednesday. Whilst there’s nothing apart from SVU on Thursdays and I don’t always feel like watching that.

  2. it’s really annoying that the TV programmers are destroying any chance of Dallas getting good ratings & starting up a new generation of Dallas fans. In Australia they have dithered around & messed around so much with the broadcasting of season 1 and when is season 2 going to start?!
It’s a fantastic soap which needs proper air time – Prime Time!!! Get it together Australia!!!

  3. About time- we are only two seasons behind now thanks to channel 9’s poor handling of this show and contempt for the viewers. The changing starting times and the fact it was on too late to begin with would have been factors in the lower ratings. Give it a real go!!

  4. The second season is a vast improvement on the first.
JR’s death is handled well and with a lot of heart.
It’s a pity ratings were down in the States. Really deserved to do better.
