TEN morning show called Studio 10

TEN's new morning show with Ita Buttrose and Joe Hildebrand now has a name.

L to R Hamish McLennan Ita Buttrose Adam BolandTEN’s new morning show with Ita Buttrose and Joe Hildebrand will be called Studio 10.

The naming of the upcoming show followed a Twitter contest, won by Darren Sanders (who has a late night chat show coming to GO!).

Buttrose told News Corp the name offered plenty of scope.

“Anything could happen at Studio 10,” she said.

Buttrose and Hildebrand are two of five presenters, with two more to be announced. A fifth place will be given to a guest presenter.

A start date for Studio 10 is yet to be confirmed, along with the venue.

To be produced by Rob McKnight, it will also be filmed in the round with the audience forming part of the set.

Meanwhile Maude Garrett was announced on the weekend as Wake Up‘s new LA Correspondent.

  1. No negative response here as I rarely watch morning TV but Studio 10 sounds vaguely familiar – something on Fox or a throwback to the disco place from the 70s.

  2. So presumably given the name this show won’t be filmed at Manly Beach like Wake Up. I would’ve thought they would have shot the two shows in the same location.

  3. Has no one given any thought to the fact that (a) Ita Buttrose skews very old and will not appeal to the 18-45 grocery buyers advertisers want (b) who finds Joe Hildebrand appealing or funny? (c) there are already two pretty crappy morning shows and do viewers really want a third (same argument re Wake Up) (d) are the pensioners who 9 used to bus in to be the Midday audience still alive? (e) without advertorials how will it survive (f) if there are advertorials then what is the point (g) what is 10 producing in Studios 1 – 9?.
I smell desperation. 10 and the morning tv wunderkind really haven’t thought any of this through. Yes, talking head tv is cheap to produce (hence the proliferation of news shows during the day and panel shows during the evening) – but if no one watches, then it becomes expensive and, in the long run, embarrassing.
Kids/toddler tv would actually rate higher.
    I…

  4. Still not sold on the concept, but definently willing to tune into ep 1 of Studio 10. Though I really enjoy Larry & Kylie’s Morning Show so it would have to be pretty damn good to get me to change permanently!

  5. In theory the show looks ok with who they have cast but that logo? Taking us back a decade or so. Its oldschool. Give us something fresh and new. Being a graphic designer yes its got everyones attention but to me it looks like something you would see on a football jersey not a tv show.

  6. Re picture! strange unwelcoming body language as in defiant crossed arms? but except for the typo of Studio 10 I totally agree with the intended name of Stupidio Hilderbrand, ITA 10

  7. I hate the name. It reveals nothing about the show and just sounds tacky.

I would’ve gone with something that actually suits the time of day it will air like “The Daybreakers” or “Brunch”.

Having said that I’ll definitely be watching because I like the look of the format.

  8. @joey69 If only you could make money from all the negative comments. You would become a millionaire. Did a viewer of Studio 3 on ABC3 suggest the name Studio 10 for Ten?

  9. Unless there are no advertorials at all, I fail to see how it can be totally different to the others.

And reading the article on News.com.au where Ita talks about stayin in London’s Savoy hotel for a month makes me think she’s not quite in touch with the stay-at-home mum audience that this is targeted at.

  10. @joey69 – couldnt agree more… You can make some money doing this..

I love how the title for the show automatically dictates whether its s#*& or not before its even aired…

If this morning line-up does fail, expect headlines to read “Wake Up! Studio 10” (and get some ratings)

  11. Ten should have launched Wake Up earlier to tie-in with the Royal Baby news.
So what’s going to happen to Ten’s current weekday mornings line-up? As I much prefer Bold and the Beautiful on at 9am.

  12. Ten shouldn’t be able to have that as it’s too much like Studio 3 (ABC 3’s early morning kid’s variety breakfast show) and Studio 22 (old ABC music show which showcased live performances from local and international bands and artists).
