Anna Torv cast in new Ryan Murphy drama

Australian Anna Torv has nabbed the starring role in Ryan Murphy's new drama pilot Open for HBO.

2013-08-01_1208Australian Anna Torv (Fringe) has nabbed the starring role in Ryan Murphy’s new drama pilot Open for HBO.

She joins with Jennifer Jason Leigh as an on-screen love interest what has been described as a multi-character exploration of the complex, ever-evolving landscape of sexuality, monogamy and intimacy in relationships.

Torv will play Windsor, a yoga instructor in a long-term relationship with Holly (Leigh), but upon meeting Grace feels an instant connection. Leigh’s Holly is described as an actress intensely committed to her career.

Also cast are Scott Speedman, who will play a sports agent named Jonathan, Wes Bentley, who plays Evan, a handsome blowhard who loves espousing his theories on human sexuality.

HBO has ordered the drama to pilot in April.

  1. Any word on when/ if Fringe season 5 will be airing on FTA televsion? I’ve been waiting forever and am considering just biting the bullet and buying season 5 from US itunes.
