Former Weather Channel presenter Josh Holt, joins Queensland’s TEN News at Five as weather presenter from today.
Holt studied at the Bureau of Meteorology and has been with The Weather Channel for the past 5 years and has had regular spots on breakfast radio programs including ABC, 2GB, 4BC, SeaFM and 6PR.
In 2010 he won an ASTRA Award for Best News Coverage, for the Black Saturday Bushfires.
“I am so excited to now live and work in Queensland where both my mother and father were born and raised,” he said.
“I have covered the biggest weather events Queenslanders have experienced over the past five years and I am honoured to be given the opportunity to continue that passion I have for the weather and the state of Queensland.”
TEN’s Director News, Queensland, Angela Murphy, said: “Weather makes news, and extreme weather events are something Queenslanders know all too well.
“I’m delighted to welcome Josh to the team alongside Georgina Lewis and Jonathan Williams.”

Good for Josh. After being a loyal Ten News watcher for decades I’ve turned off following Southern Cross Ten’s decision to ditch the Sydney bulletin from the Gold Coast and replace it with the inferior Brisbane bulletin. Now both Ten channels on the Gold Coast have the same telecast. Sorry but Georgina Lewis is no Sandra Sully. Adios Ten.
Hello, Captain Handsome!
Perth ten news 7news 9news the weather people know what there talking about
I wish we could so fortunate down here in Melbourne – currently we have to put up with Giaan Rooney and Rebecca Judd for our 6pm bulletins.
Thank God that Ten’s weather is being taken seriously & is not a chance for whichever female presenter to swan around advertising social events.
Now all 4 networks up here have serious weather people.
Congratulations to Josh. I look forward to his first report tonight.
