Former Celebrity Apprentice contestant Kym Johnson has confirmed she won’t be participating on the US series of Dancing with the Stars, ahead of her expected announcement as a judge on the Australian series.
“I will be taking the next season off from DWTS USA so that I may accept an amazing work opportunity back home in Australia,” she told US Magazine. “I am excited, nervous and humbled by this chance and look forward to sharing more about it with you soon.”
Seven has been busily casting the new series, which is expected to help drive Seven through to the end of the year.
With The X Factor already in place for Sundays and Mondays, it seems likely that Dancing will take up residence on either Tuesdays or Wednesdays.
It could all come full circle, given the show started out on a Tuesday night in October 2004, with Johnson as one of the resident dancers.

Gosh, they are leaving it awfully late this year. I assumed the show was on hiatus. They need a six week training period before the show starts, so, it wouldn’t be starting till October at the earliest, meaning it will conclude in January. That makes no sense as the majority of its run will be in a non-ratings period. How bizarre.
I havent watched DWTS Australia for quite a while. So if Kim Johnson returns i would give it a shot. She is hot not wonder she spent most of her time in the US on the US version of DWTS.
So which H&A cast member this year?
Apparently Kris Smith has signed on! Not sure if its as a contestant or host do you have any idea David?
It so wouldn’t be host….
I agree with ricoz .. everybody ends up looking the same.
Didn’t think Dancing would surface this year. I think It’s time Seven put this show out of its misery.
Wow can’t even recognise her face! Such a shame she gets rid of her natural Aussie looks to try fit into the American ideal of what a celebrity should look like.
They’d better get a wriggle on. Even if they announce the cast today and have the usual schedule of; 6 week training, 10 week season, they are going to run into non ratings.
I thought it was being rested this year? Are there any ‘celebrities’ left to appear on it (they could do an All Stars version).
I really hope KAK is considered for the Kruger/Mel B side kick role – I think she would be brilliant.
I hope the rumour is true. Kym is awesome and still down-to-earth. Bring it on!
Oh wow, that will be interesting. Are they replacing all the judges? I had heard something about that but wasn’t sure how true it was.
Which could force W & L back to 9 or 9.30 (or the dreaded 9.30?). Good way to kill a drama. Let’s hope it’s Wednesday nights which hasn’t been doing well for 7. I’ll be watching Wonderland so as long as it doesn’t impact o. Aussie drama shove it where they like.
