  1. Can anyone point me the direction of being able to view this episode online. I don’t have a TV where I am staying at present and would love to catch this episode after it screens online, so if someone can suggest a site where I can do that, that would be lovely. Thank you in advance.

  2. The reason i think it could be Billie, is because Kat Stewart seems like such an eclectic actress, she would always be on the hunt for new and exciting roles.

    Although, it might be Jimmy, because he is
    ‘expendable’ for lack of a better word.

    This Offpspring death has really ruined my week.

  3. Hi David, also not asking you to give anything away, but in your honest opinion, is this the ‘groundbreaking’, ‘history-making’ episode Ten’s making it out to be? Is it worth the hype?

    I totally love this show – to the point of obsession! 🙂 – but I’m really nervous they’re just killing someone off for the shock value and that the credibility of the storylines might be negatively impacted. I just wish Wednesday night would hurry up and get here already! All this speculation is driving me bonkers!

  5. Patrick has been too perfect the last few episodes – I was already worrying about his safety before these alerts! When Matt Le Nevez turned up in series 2 we could all see why series 1 wasn’t quite right. If he exits Offspring this week I fear series 5 will go back to being a bit rudderless again. He’s the compass.

  7. Is it possible to feel so anxious about a tv program? Wednesday nights are so emotional. Just wish it was a longer season. Asher Keddie is the best.

  8. I’m hoping it’s Patrick, I cannot warm to him, though I saw him in a promo where Nina had given birth and he was with her, so I assume that was a red-herring, dream sequence. The brother is pretty much a cipher character, so he would be the obvious one to write out. I would be surprised if Billie was written out, but the current story arc suggests something very dramatic will happen to her. I’m thinking she suicides or has a drunken car accident after her night in the bar last week or something like that.

  12. I guess it is testament to how vivid these characters and plotlines are, that this watershed is as dramatic as it looks like being. I have loved Kat Stewart since the very first ep of Offspring. I will be pretty devvo if it is her. She has also been the best part of Series 4.
    I didn’t take to ‘Jimmy’ in the first year, but really like what Richard Davies has brought to the show. If i had to choose one – ‘Patrick’.. I know it’s fiction, but it is so compelling.

  13. I really hate how every Aussie or British ongoing character drama has to have some one die, if it goes for more than one season. I thought Offspring may have been above this, but now it joins their ranks and risks having the show be not quite the same again.

  18. Jimmy’s definitely expendable, he’s never added much to the show.

    Of course, it may not be one of the three whose images they’ve popped up. It could be someone who’s already left the program – Darcy (her father) perhaps.

  19. As someone who never watched offspring when it first started and only watched it over the christmas period because 10 decided to replay the first 3 series I fell in love with this show and now watch it every wednesday.

    I never appreciated how good an actress Asher is and this season Kat has been brilliant.

    Im not sure who will die but whoever it is it is a tragic outcome.

    Jimmy is just getting his life together and is a new father, it would be so sad if it was Billy. I mean she and her sister are fighting, she and Mick are going through the rough patch and it would be so sad.

    But if its Patrick that will be worse and just so sad.

  21. This season has been boring but the last few episodes have been excellent.
    I do wonder if anyone is actually going to die and the promo is just part of a Nina dream!
    But if someone has to die then I hope it’s not Billie.

  22. I don’t watch the show, but I can’t imagine the hyperbole from the promos that tout it as “change Australian drama forever” to be true…

  23. I think I’ll be stressed out this entire episode! I was stressed and on edge enough last week, thinking that last week might be the week. Really hoping that they don’t kill of Patrick, but both Billie and Jimmy would be major losses to the show too…!

    Please tell me it happens quickly David and not in the last few minutes of the episode!

  24. I don’t want anyone to die, but my choice will be Billy. He doesn’t really add much and is pretty irrelevant. Billy is a main character so I can’t see her going. And they better not dare get rid of Patrick, after everything they have been through to get together. They are finally in a good place and have sorted everything out. I will be very angry if it is him. But I know scriptwriters don’t like ‘happily every after’, so am worried it will be him.

  25. This has been doing my head in! As a diehard fan, i am already distressed that our Nina will lose somebody so close, but that the show will lose one of its best characters. I recall seeing a shot of Patrick holding Nina’s hand whilst she sits up in bed in the new promos which possibly knocks him out of possibility, but it could be another fantasy moment or from elsewhere. Is is the best kept secret who leaves?
