US season pick-ups Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Crazy Ones.

But its bad news for NBC's Ironside remake and Welcome To The Family.

2013-10-20_0117There’s been a bit more movement in the US as new Fall shows win full first seasons from networks.

FOX comedy series Brooklyn Nine-Nine featuring Andy Samberg and Andre Braughera further 9 episodes. “It’s exciting to see that both critics and fans love Brooklyn Nine-Nine as much as we do,” said FOX Entertainment chairman Kevin Reilly. “With Andy and Andre out in front of this incredible ensemble, it feels like this show is going to be around for a long time.”

The Crazy Ones starring Robin Williams, has also won a further 9 eps from CBS. It ranks as the season’s No. 1 new comedy in viewers (13.71 million). It premieres tonight in Australia on FOX8.

CBS has also given back orders to The Millers, coming to TEN, and Mom.

Sean Saves The World, starring Sean Hayes, has received an order for 4 additional scripts.

However NBC has pulled its Ironside remake and Welcome To The Family three weeks into their runs.

  1. I liked ‘Welcome to the Family’, shame it didn’t rate better, hope we get the remaining eps at some point.

Loving ‘The Crazy Ones’, ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ and ‘The Michael J Fox Show’, can’t wait to see more.

  2. Seriously? The Crazy Ones, relies on Williams crazy faces and sounds rather than anything else and Geller looks like she would be more comfortable with a stake in her hand!

Brooklyn 9-9 relies on an annoying man child, who happens to be the best cop they have needless to say it is so hard to get through!

Just my opinion but neither are funny and seem to go on for longer than they actually do.

  3. I’m loving The Crazy Ones. The best new comedy for me. It’s still rating well so hope it gets renewed. I’m enjoying The Goldbergs and Trophy Wife as well, both have been given additional scripts.

Don’t know why Dads, Mom, Sean Saves The World or Brooklyn 9-9 were given more episodes. They are all bad.

The Millers is decent enough, but it really benefits from Big Bang lead in.

  4. Loving The Crazy Ones. Not sure it fits where it’s sandwiched on the CBS schedule as it’s very different in tone to the shows around it. But regardless, thrilled for a full season!

  5. Good news. I want to see Braugher and Janey do something different, at least for a couple of eps.

The Crazy Ones has dropped to around 9.5m and is being beaten by its lead in The Millers especially for 18-49s (3.2 v 2.5).

CBS has top dramas and sitcoms but has struggled to establish new shows. So they are giving Mom a chance. It’s rating badly but Lorre has a track record starting with an idea with potential and finding what works e.g. Sheldon became the main character in TBBT and it all clicked.

The Brooklyn Nine-Nine is rating badly and it looked like Dads might take it down with it, but Fox executives were quoted as saying it had potential.

  6. I’m not impressed with the new comedies this season. We Are Men was cancelled after two episodes, which was deserved. Welcome to the Family was not well executed which explains the cancellation. I could not even get through the entire first episodes of ‘Mom’, ‘Dads’, and ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’.
I expected more from Sean Saves the World, but it is disappointing and reminds me of those cheap sitcoms that last 13 episodes and Channel Nine run at 1am or during the summer as filler in between cricket.
The Crazy Ones is mediocre, it has a couple of chuckles but I was expecting a cancellation for this after episode 13.
