  1. I am a fan of the Graham Norton Show as well, however where would it go if it were to move. It was on ABC2 before in it’s first runs on a Saturday Night (repeated late Friday Night the following week) and was rating around the same as it is now (with combined figures).

It is a pity TEN aren’t repeating the episode like they used to on Eleven on the Tuesday Night after the Sunday show for others. However I guess they’re trying to push TenPlay and double episodes of Rules Of Engagement, Don’t Trust The B—- In Apartment 23 and Sex And The City are more important.

For me it makes no difference as I PVR it on TEN, did the same on ABC2 and would regardless of what channel it’s on.

  2. I wish to thank the ABC for the News. I did watch the story about Doctor Who. I’m glad they warned people about it containing spoilers also glad I saw it previously. I watched Doctor Who again at 7.30pm. Loved it except what was done to the credits (no surprise ) . Despite it I also watched the show afterwards. I thought it excellently done. Plus I naughtily did catch Graham Norton. Thank you to Ten. Although I wish there was a repeat. I would of watched it if I could.

I guess I can watch ABC1 now based on this experience. But not like I used to. As now there is an abuse payment as the price. So you watch one show at the expense of one or more for it. Usually the next show with the ABC but maybe others too depending on the credits. Everyone requires the payment these days. Watch one show instead of the many.

Otherwise congratulations for almost fifty years of Doctor Who on the…

  3. @ jezza the first original one…totally agree, re Graham Norton…certainly not achieving its potential….
@ WolfieBoy….I would watch it on catchup..but since they changed to Tenplay…I cannot get it…dont know why…sound no picture?!?

  4. On the subject of ratings meters, while the system is not perfect, it has been proven time and time again that the figures obtained are well within acceptable tolerances, plus and minus.

The only so called fanatics who would be likely to rig the system would be those frustrated TEN fan boys who appear to be under the impression that anyone who doesn’t watch the ailing network’s mediocre programs are simple minded and possibly dishonest. For God’s sake, give it a rest.

  5. Sometimes I think if David and also Oztam had a facility where viewers can say what they watched on any particular day or during any particular week, then that data would add more accuracy to the total data collection result.

Yes both figures could be rigged by fanatics but ratings measuring set ups sometimes go to less than honest households with agenda’s.

The system works in a way but can be improved – providing more input by the viewing public can only be a good thing be4 we are left only with Test Cricket and BBT and 2.5 Men – that would be very sad and our TV’s would only have DVD and Blue Ray players running whilst on.

Just my point of view 🙂

  6. jezza the first original one

@WolfieBoy….same shows are on in our household, but I just think GN deserves a much bigger audience, he is world class, ch10 are not. But they should try and get him a better audience somehow…

  7. @Jezza – Graham Norton is not wasted on Ten. Why even say such a thing and Sunday night is fine thanks. We watched Elementary and then Graham Norton show and enjoyed them both very much. No other show in that category comes even close to the Graham Norton show.

Those that don’t watch Ten out of principle just have to miss out then LOL. 🙂

  8. jezza the first original one

Dr Who was Dr Wow then…..nice result

Graham Norton is just lost and wasted on ch10. It needs to move nights or chs as it is one of the very best entertainment/chat shows around and rarely fails to deliver superstar guests.

The Ashes cricket has shown its real value to ch9….an absolute winner
