16 Comments:

  1. I wish to thank the ABC for most of the News and the former The 7.30 Report. Also Q&A and Lateline. Plus thank you to Eleven for Supernatural and I caught the end of The 4400. I’ve noticed a slight change in computer graphics I tried to offline my literacy skills to not have a negative reaction.

I also have noticed that the Ten Network have officially joined in with everyone else and now have the tasteless classification colour scheme during both the ad breaks on ads and the like as well as during shows. Instead of the tasteful white computer graphics.

I will now officially morn them. I miss seeing the tasteful colour schemes on posters, video and DVD covers. Not to mention on footage. It occasionally works out like the Sherlock ads. Or as a separate classification display before footage starts on TV or film or a trailer. But bad taste mostly won. 🙁

  2. Why why why would Ch10 schedule Secrets and Lies up against Love Child? S&L deserves a chance and it was never going to do well against LC which is just brilliant and already has it’s established audience. Put S&R on a Friday night where it would rate far better for 10 and also win some viewers back. Secrets and Lies is great. I’m hooked already – but I taped it and watched Love Child. Like everyone else.

  3. daveinprogress

Well the promos promised twists and there were, on Secrets and Lies, but i guess if viewers didn’t jump on the bandwagon for ep 1, it’s downhill from there. Ep 2 was better, imo. but still slow and a bit incredulous at times. The last segment was strong. 366,000 is terrible though. The promos are actually a little too try hard and overly revelatory, i think. For those of us still watching!

  4. MKR was slightly better last night but I don’t like that semi trailer style kitchen – too cramped. Professional Chefs would not like such conditions to create restaurant style meals which most of them are definitely not of course.

Can’t wait for the last few useless, bitchy people to be gone, then get on with real cooking perhaps.

  5. It really annoys me that the morning shows pretend to fairly give away cash by phone calls. The fact is that the five rings they hear are only ring tones to keep the caller on side. The actual Ring current that goes out to the distant phone can be a few rings behind that (depending on location, equipment, congestion etc) so many contestants may only get 1 or two rings of their actual phone therefore have no chance — totally unfair and unethical

  6. “Good to see MKR come back to the top”.

Yep, great that so many Australians are entertained by such bitchy, negative ‘storytelling’. Sums up the country perfectly right now I suppose.

  7. @aesthetic. – Neighbours airs 4 times a day on UK’s 5 and 5+. Overseas sales would keep it going, even if not on air in Australia. Same applies to H&A.

  8. Oh dear !
Bad news for Secrets and Lies.
Deserves to rate much better. Not quite the blockbuster Ten have been promoting it as but still well worth watching.

I record it to watch after Love Child – perhaps others are doing the same and this is one reason for its low ratings.

  9. Seems like the kitchen HQ cookoffs and sudden deaths will rate better for MKR than the team challenges.

@JoeBloggs agree with you that Neighbours has been tens constant signature show. It stopped rating decent figures years ago but keeps chugging along each season. The end of Neighbours would be a sad day for Australian tv as I think it often has more substance in its storylines than home & away which has changed from what it used to be only 5 years ago.

  10. If Rick Maier thought a wide audience would embrace Secrets and LIes (the title alone is old style), then he’s lost any affinity he once had with the audience. What is Ten doing keeping the very people who are way past their use by date?!

  11. Ten’s S&L continues to fall its ratings from last week. Good to see MKR come back to the top after being beaten by the Block last night.
