16 Comments:

  1. I wish that Seven would believe the ads in the ad break or on radio is what attracted the audience. But I guess that would require faith in the Promo Department. As I’ve stated previously I don’t get why words on the screen during another show would cause the audience to show up.

I always paid attention to the TV show ads (plus some non-TV show ads if interesting or fun) in the ad break even when skipping. Although sometimes the video had chew-the-tape syndrome. So I watched it near live. Lastly I was seriously tempted to watch it. But everyone knows what happen so no rehash.

Thank you to the ABC for the News, the former 7.30 Report, Foreign Correspondent, Lateline, Four Corners and Media Watch. I also liked the Doctor Who Web of Fear DVD ad too.

  2. Staggered by the ratings of Resurrection, It looked terrible by the ads and not a patch on the show The Returned on at the same time slot with similar plot.

  3. Resurrection is a great new show. We just watched the recording and loved it. No wonder 7 don’t want their programming executive to defect to Ten. 🙂

  4. wow a bit shocked by the figures of Resurrection, but i guess we will se how it goes int he next few weeks.

I stupidly watched letterman last night and regret it because I found out what happens down the track on the good wife and I didnt want to know that

  5. You watch over the next few weeks, when Resurrection starts to shed its viewers. Most channel 7 shows start with a bang, and will end in a whimper.

Resurrection to me well meh rubbish.

  6. What a fantastic start for Resurrection, thoroughly enjoyed myself it and hope that other viewers did too although it will loose people watching as time goes by but think you need to watch a few episodes to find out the basic story line and the characters involved. Think Jacob is a great little actor.

  7. @Ronnie…”high concept, complex, intelligent drama”
Really were you watching the same show? It is clear that this show is going to be another conspiracy show with Arcadia being the haven for ‘a secret (government) organisation’. This will become another Flash Forward.

  8. Secret Squirrel

Wow, thought Resurrection would get 1.6-1.7m but 1.9m is impressive. Haven’t watched any of Seven’s channels since the Clipsal 500 but from what I’ve read there was saturation advertising for it. I guess if for every two people you annoy enough to not tune in, three are persuaded to do so, it makes it worth it.

@Ronnie – let’s wait 3 weeks before we declare that mainstream Australia really does want high concept, complex, intelligent drama. All evidence so far is to the contrary.

  9. If Resurrection was on TEN it would have rated 500,000K max. Goes to show now that its not the program but the Channel that people are not watching

  10. I can’t believe those figures for Resurrection. The good news for Seven is it has a high starting point so the inevitable drop in viewers will still see it pulling decent figures for a while.

  11. Wow. So endless promotion really does work! Will this be the ‘Under the Dome’ of 2014? I didn’t think anything would increase after MKR!
