LG Televisions come in for a bit of a serve in The Checkout tomorrow night for its “Ultra High Definition TV” ads.
Also this week:
Julian Morrow looks at superannuation and the quest for financial enlightenment, Kirsten Drysdale throws stones in the chlorophyll glasshouse, and Scott Abbot looks for clarity in headphones with a visit to Dr Dre.
Zoe Norton Lodge will feature ‘As A Loving Pet Owner…’ (a new segment that will return during the series about the weird and wonderful things you can buy for your pets).
And there’s a Parallel Consumerverse on If Nightclubs Were Childcare Centres.
8pm Thursday ABC1.

HD is almost pointless right now unless you have Foxtel, UHD4x is just a waste of money, you’d be better off getting 3D 😉
Give it 10 years and we might have UHD in this country.
I wonder if it’s about how pointless UHD / 4K TVs are when almost all FTA content (including a lot of what’s on the so-called HD channels) is SD, and Blu-ray media won’t look any better than on a standard HDTV? What’s next, TVs with ultraviolet pixels?
