Nine News Perth is adding a second news anchor, Libby Stone, to join Tim McMillan.
Stone, returns to Perth after joining Nine News Brisbane in 2010.
Nine Perth Managing Director, David Mott, said “Libby is a highly respected journalist who will add further depth to our talented Nine News team.
“In recent weeks we’ve introduced a one-hour bulletin which has increased our audience by 7.5 per cent year-on-year.”
Born in Mandurah, Western Australia, she has a mass communications degree from Curtin University and did a post-graduate course in broadcasting at the WA Academy of Performing Arts. She moved to Queensland in 2007, reading the news for Sea FM and Gold FM on the Gold Coast.
“It’s a privilege to join Tim and the Nine News Perth team and we are committed to delivering the most comprehensive news service in WA,” Stone said.

It will only be a matter of time before the other capitals follow suit.
Another talent from the 9 news Brisbane team shipped off interstate, seems quite the breeding ground.
Shame they weren’t able to utilise a local news personality who viewers would be more familiar with. But having a second anchor is a good move.
Libby stone would be a suitable 2nd anchor on 9 News Perth. I hope that this could push the viewership up in Perth.
