Renewed: Revenge, Grey’s Anatomy, Resurrection, Agents of SHIELD

Also renewed: Scandal, Once Upon a Time and Castle.

Screen Shot 2014-05-09 at 4.30.57 pm.jpgABC Studios has renewed a number of high profile dramas, all of which will be music to Seven’s ears.

They include Revenge, Grey’s Anatomy, Resurrection, Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, Scandal, Once Upon a Time and Castle.

Grey’s Anatomy is the longest running of the batch, approved for an 11th season with Ellen Pompeo, Patrick Dempsey, Chandra Wilson, James Pickens Jr., Justin Chambers and Sara Ramirez and Shonda Rhimes as showrunner.

Castle, starring Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic, is back for a seventh season.

Shonda Rhimes’ other drama Scandal, with Kerry Washington and Tony Goldwyn, performs far better in the US than here, averaging 9 million viewers overnight. It wins a fourth season.

Once Upon a Time and Revenge will also have fourth seasons. Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD returns for a second season.

Newcomer Resurrection, which is heading towards a major reveal and cliffhanger, will also have a second season.

  1. I hope agent Triplett is a regular is season 2 of Agents of SHIELD.
It’s also worth noting that ABC studios are proceeding with the Agent Carter show – hopefully this airs on 7.

AOS is being show run by Josh’s brother Jed and his wife from Spartacus.

It did improve in the second half. But they haven’t have really carried off the whole Ward is a good guy and a brutal Hydra killer though.

  3. Gave up on all those shows a while back (bar Resurrection) partly due to Seven stuffing them around and partly because they became boring (or already were – SHIELD, I’m looking at you). Having now seen the finale of Resurrection, I will not be back for S2.

  4. I love that Grey’s Anatomy has been on for this long and I’ll never get bored of it’s storylines! And brilliant news on all of these renewals! Can’t wait for the season finales of Revenge and Once Upon A Time.

  5. Happy for Revenge, OUAT, Castle, Resurrection, SHIELD. Think it will be a last season for Revenge and OUAT. Can’t believe you missed Modern Family renewal though.

Beyond excited that The Goldbergs is renewed too, don’t know if it airs here but is one of my favourite new comedies. Hope The Crazy Ones escapes with renewal as well.

Sadly The Trophy Wife is cancelled despite being much funnier than many other comedies on tv.

  6. Agents of Sheild sure has gotten good after a slow start. Hallmarks of Josh Whedon, as it was a similar pattern in Buffy and Angels first seasons. Not many of those other shows excite me much, just as well, as its hard to keep up with Sevens double episode programming.

  7. Great news for all shows. I watch every one of them. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. had a really slow start but the show has been getting better each and every week.

Wish Seven would return new Castle though. Been waiting a while now.

  8. So happy Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has got the go ahead for another season, it’s really picked up in the back end of the first season. Love the style of the show with the way they play a bit of humour into it as well as the serious stuff.

  9. Excellent news. ABC produces some of the best dramas among the US broadcast networks. It’s a shame many of them don’t get the treatment they deserve here by Seven.
