Cameras roll on ITV drama Vera

Filming is underway in the UK on the fifth series of Vera, starring Brenda Blethyn.

Filming is underway in the UK on the fifth series of Vera, starring Brenda Blethyn as Detective Chief Inspector Vera Stanhope.

Cast and crew were in Newcastle and Northumberland this week.

“I love Newcastle, I love working there,” Brenda Blethyn said in a previous interview.

“I’d never been to Northumberland before,” she continued. “It is such a beautiful part of our country, there are so many different terrains, and there are beautiful moors, the seascapes. Fantastic.”

Vera, based on the work of author Ann Cleeves, has aired in Australia on 7TWO and 13th Street.

13th Street have the Australian premiere of Season 4 which will air on August 22 at 8.30pm.

  1. This is a great show. Brit crime at its best. Only 4 movie length episodes are made each year.
