Not sure I am really seeing the charms of ABC2’s Back Seat Drivers yet, as comedians get behind the wheel of a taxi apparently to take the pulse of the nation.
Think it needs to be either more funny, more gob-smacking or more candid camera…
Anyone else have any thoughts on this one?
Here’s what’s on tonight’s show.
Episode three:
This week Tom Ballard, Julia Wilson and Cam Knight jump behind the driver’s wheel to tackle the highs and horrors of love, sex and dating.
Plus, Veronica sets the cabbies the challenge of finding out from their passengers’ what is more important – sex or love – and if they were offered a ‘leave pass’ by their partner, would they take it and with whom? Tune in to find out our passengers’ favourite fantasies.

I actually watched this last night and found it much improved from the first ep. Tom Ballard and Cam Knight were very funny and the passengers were great. If the show can keep this up it may have found its stride.
I don’t think the ABC even put out a press release for this one.

I watched the first episode and was totally underwhelmed. It wasn’t amusing enough and I can’t see this series getting renewed.
5 minutes was enough for me. Never again.
I have only watched episode 1 so far and found it enjoyable and relatable. A couple of key aspects that are missing from a lot of TV.
The passengers are the stars and the candid responses are saying what we are thinking.
Something fresh and new.
