ABC News presenter Karina Carvalho was inadvertently caught out on air on Friday night, presumably for a news update.

Thankfully it was harmless enough.

  1. Once upon a time there used to be a floor manager there on the floor and a control room full of people, whose sole purpose was to assist the presenter and make them look good.
    Nowadays with one person running the computerised control room and no FM, they are so distracted running around doing the stuff the FM and Directors Assistant used to do that in this instance they’ve obviously made the critical mistake of forgetting about the on air time.
    Automation at it’s finest.

  2. With technology being what it is…no one gets away with anything…even Mr/Ms ordinary on the street can have a mishap go viral….everyone has a camera/video these days.

  3. This doesn’t appear to be Carvalho’s fault, at least not entirely. It seems that she was directed to move or adjust something off-camera.

    This is just yet another example of how the lack of floor staff means that when an issue occurs, nobody is there to fix it in a timely manner. Contrast this with with the HHiS clip included in the post about “Lucky” Phil.

  5. Of course Newscorp have the footage. You wouldn’t see the ABC being so spiteful and highlighting all the Sky News bloopers, of which there are many.
